Job description:
Shell Trading & Supply has a global portfolio of crude oil, refined products, LNG, chemicals natural gas, electrical power and CO2. Trading offices are located in the US, Canada, UK, Singapore, The Netherlands, Japan, Barbados, Dubai and Russia, with many other downstream entities situated across the globe.
The Claims Team Lead (TL) drives the focus in the team of quantity claims analysts, which is where the delivered or received volumes are not as expected per the contract. The TL controls the processes and drives excellence in the team.
The team leader will lead by example and be accountable for the teams’ collective responsibilities including the drive for continuous improvement of team and processes. By working closely with Commercial Operations, Trading, Supply and Manufacturing teams the team lead will drive operational excellence, identify profit leakage and implement remedies. The team leader is a natural hands-on leader that drives performance, planning, processes and develops people along the way. The TL will be responsible for cascading messages through the organization, ensuring the team is informed in the correct manner.
Accountabilities:
Manage all communications and negotiations with a wide group of internal and external stakeholders switching between different claim types with strong operation understanding
Oversee hand offs and ownership taken by teams in multiple locations
Responsible for training and team development
Responsible for strong development of team members. Help coach, guide and lead the team of 8 Claims analysts
Facilitate curious learning culture, supporting Continues Improvement, the growth leadership attribute and changes in the industry standards.
Deliver feedback based on Shell standards for both for things to improve and reinforcement of positive behaviours.
Work with the Process Excellence team to proactively develop and ensure teams safety, compliance and audit readiness
Support global manager sustaining & improving global alignment
Gather and build case for legal proceedings
Requirements:

Some other experiences we are looking for are;
Min. 2 years’ experience in team management is a must
English min. C1
Proven ability to coach and develop team members
Willing to take the lead on cross team projects
The ability to read and interpret legal language
Experience in managing multiple processes simultaneously is an advantage
Display ‘real self’ and willing to speak even difficult truths
Balance honest self-expression with being open to other perspectives
Align team targets to business goals
Harness the creativity of others to generate new approaches
Coach others to hold a customer / stakeholder mind-set
Reward success and intervene quickly to apply consequences for non-delivery
