Job description:

The purpose of the role is to:

 

  • Deliver the work list of formulation lifecycle changes requested by Global Product Managers, Technology Managers and Product Implementation Managers according to the target completion times

  • Support your Global Product Manager in managing their product portfolio.

  • Ensure the team works closely and effectively with the extended network: the Components Team, Additive Technology, Regulatory Chemistry and Product Management

  • Continuously improve data management processes and raise awareness of the processes to increase efficiency of working

  • Set priorities within the appriopriate team and monitor workload through monthly reports (time-to-market, operational excellence).

  • Ensure Formulation Processes and Work Instructions are consistently followed and updated according to business needs.

  • Ensure Formulation data quality meets Shell, customer and legislative requirements, providing challenge to colleagues when necessary.

  • Proactively monitor portfolio health to minimise complexity across supply chain

  • Implement change requests promptly and transparently including introduction, revisions, data quality misalignments and portfolio health activities.

  • Provide expert advice to colleagues on formulation data in your area.

  • Establish a strong working relationship with Shell internal customers across the Lubricants SC community

  • Steer integration with upcoming Product Lifecycle Management project.

  • Coach less experienced staff in the team

 

Dimensions :

  • There are about 3000 saleable products in the lubricants portfolio, made up of some 4000 formulations and about 5000 components. These are used across the network of about 50 lube oil blending plants and ~10 grease manufacturing plants across the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia. Total Shell lubricants volume is some four billion litres per year.

 

Requirements:
A desire to work at product development/business interface in a global setting.
Formal qualification in technical sciences (preferably Chemistry), engineering or mathematics
Proven ability to handle large quantities of data with accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Strong team working and interpersonal skills.
Ability to learn quickly, analyse problems/situations and suggest solutions.
Ability to grow knowledge in a broad range of lubricants products, components and formulations
Advantageous but not essential:
Familiarity with analytical tests and quality procedures.
Knowledge of reporting in Microsoft Excel, SQL and/or GSAP
Ability to collate and manipulate data across multiple sources.
Experience in the use of data tools such as Alteryx and Spotfire
Experience with mentoring and/or coaching
Experience working in cross-functional and international teams
