For our growing team in Gdynia we are looking for a Finance Controller who will be responsible for the finance function:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsibility for General & Sub ledger accuracy.
- Responsibility of monthly reporting for GM Poland.Accounts to be prepared to allow timely review by Regional Controller
- Responsibility for ensuring Project Managers invoice in a timely manner
- Follow up external accounting and payroll company and coordination of financial reporting against our external accounting partner
- Project control
- Responsible for project set up in our ERP system (Netsuite)
- To provide relevant performance and cash flow data to Appropriate Project & other Managers
- To cover banking requirements of GM Poland
- To be hands on as required to process data as needed during implementation to Netsuite
- Preparation of cash flow forecast
- Preparation of bank payments as required
- To ensure intercompany balances are agreed and settled in a timely manner, to escalate disputed items as required
- To ensure monthly reconciliation of key balance sheet codes: AR, AP, Banking, Other debtors/creditors, accruals, Fixed Assets
- To analyse performance of Engineers, Entities and Business Streams
- Handle queries incoming to the finance department and take responsibility for answering queries from customers, suppliers and other Global Maritime departments, escalating queries promptly as required.
- Credit Control
- To provide adhoc support to Regional Controller
- To provide adhoc support to Country Manager
- To assist with adhoc Group Reporting Requests
- To prepare and facilitate for Annual Audit
Specific Skills, Knowledge and Experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Economics or equivalent
- Experience within Accounting in Poland and from work in international companies
- At least 5 years’ experience from similar role
- Experience from working in ERP systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, both in Polish and English
- Excellent organisational and administration skills; understanding the importance of clear audit trails.
- Strong attention to detail to maximise posting accuracy and minimise follow-up journal corrections.
- Polite and helpful communication skills when handling queries asked of the department.
- Be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
- Ability to resolve queries promptly or recognise when they need escalating.
