TEAM DESCRIPTION:

The goal of ERM department is to ensure that State Street’s risks are proactively identified, well-understood, and prudently managed in support of our business strategy.  As such, ERM provides risk oversight, support, and coordination to ensure consistent identification, measurement and management of all risks possible in providing products and services to our clients. 

Global Treasury Risk Management (GTRM) acts as the business-aligned risk function focused on these responsibilities for the activities of the Global Treasury (GT) department, inclusive of the Credit Risk Management team. 

The GTRM team is responsible for the portfolio credit risk oversight and control of the global investment portfolio, including other-than-temporary-impairment assessment, bottom-up stress tests, credit risk measurement and analytics, concentration risk measurement and monitoring, portfolio credit limits monitoring and approval/exception analysis, SFA/SSFA modeling, as well as various regulatory and management reporting.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for someone with experience as a program manager in technology projects including experience with software lifecycle (requirements, design, build, test and execute). Ideally this person would have experience in working with IT or have experience in an IT organization.

This individual would maintain our business processes around the grid, including roles and responsibilities, ensuring we comply with our control standards, and documenting and communicating how the process should work to everyone involved. This would largely be by listening to the business teams in the IT teams communicate about how it’s going to work, being able to document that, and then being able to teach that. A real plus would be if this person had experience in IT controls, such as access control, input data quality, and software change management. With this experience, they could contribute to the design of the controls.

Once our processes and procedures are established and documented, this individual would work with all teams as the models go through the process of being developed, tested, and executed.

This individual would need to work with others to try to understand the requirements of a software implementation, write it up, and work with all the teams to make sure that it is done as requested. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Cooperation with the quantitative teams during preparation and testing of model implementations.
  • Support the GTRM teams in transition to Hadoop environment
  • Preparation of technical documentation and the implementation plan.
  • Cooperation with Model Risk Management during model validation stage. Incorporation of suggested remediation actions.
  • Presentation of the results during workshops with business counterparties and senior management.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with strong technical skills (e.g. Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering).
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in program management in IT projects.
  • Experience with Spark (pyspark, sparklyr).
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written in English).
  • Agile mindset and willingness to learn, share knowledge and collaborate with others.
  • Ability to execute on competing priorities in a timely manner.
  • Basic understanding of Distributed Systems (Hadoop Ecosystem).
  • Experience in building software would be a plus.
  • Experience in financial industry would be a plus
