Job description:

Job Purpose:
This Contracting and Procurement (CP) Operations Senior Buyer role is focussed primarily on managing a global portfolio of Global Inspection Contracts (GIC) and logistics contracts in Europe to enable and deliver the most competitive supply chains for Trading & Supply according to Category Management Contracting & Procurement (CMCP) guidelines.
 
The Senior Buyer manages spend and category specific dimensions by working in close coordination with Procurement Managers/Category Managers, maximizes value from Contracts, implements Enterprise Framework Agreement (EFA) call-offs and ensures continuity of supply through managing ad-hoc business requirements in accordance with management principles. The Senior Buyer is accountable for aggregating/leveraging third-party spend/demand and to execute/develop the sourcing strategy to optimise Shell’s buying power and reduce the overall 3rd party spend.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Work with various customers, and stakeholders within various Shell Businesses & Functions to execute Category Management commercial work plans, assuring supply of contracts at market competitive terms and conditions, as well as delivering value through Bottom Line Impacts.
  • Deliver substantial value to CP Trading & Supply supported Shell Businesses and Functions by:
    • Contracting and procuring services including developing and managing local agreements under the direction of the Local Procurement Lead and/or Global Category Manager as appropriate and negotiation where required.
    • Ensure all commercial activity is fully aligned with the Local Category Management commercial strategies and principles and Business needs
    • Developing and executing commercial contract strategies as well as operationalising and commercially managing operational agreements Applying supply/value chain analyses and modelling
    • Execute Group Contract Management process for assigned operational & tactical contracts
    • Scoping projects and analysing CP business requirements and external market dynamics
    • Interacting with Contract Management teams and Contract Reviews with the respective Global Category Managers, CP colleagues in the business and the local businesses
  • Understand Shell Ways to Buy and manage one-off Purchase Orders when required
  • Deliver end-to-end cost savings impacting CP Trading & Supply supported Businesses bottom line
  • Implement Operational Excellence priorities

  • Highly motivated team player with ability to work autonomously in a virtual environment.
  • Uncompromising on HSSE, ethics & compliance is a ‘must have’ in all CP roles.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with demonstrated ability to interact seamlessly and effectively with variety of stakeholders.
  • Trading & Supply experience/business knowledge desirable.
