Job description:
Purpose of the role:

Accounts Payable (AP) in Finance Operations (FO) performs activities supporting various Shell businesses and entities.  As a global team operating out of Manila, Krakow and Kuala Lumpur we are consisting of 3 sub-process teams namely Requisition to Pay, Non-Procurement Expenditure and Global Payments. Our process aims for on-time and correct payments for Shell business partners and vendors. The process supports 5 different lines of businesses and uses 11+ ERPs to analyze an manage Shell payables. 

The Projects and Process Experts Manager – Accounts Payable position will lead the team of Project Managers and AP Excellence Subject Matter Experts in driving continuous and sustainable improvements as well as change agenda across teams/businesses aligning to wider business objectives.  This role is responsible in delivering innovative solutions and strengthening and sustaining relevant process/business expertise in the organization. The post holder will also be responsible for defining the organizational structure of the projects and for interfacing with the functional teams associated with the project to enable E2E Process Improvements with key business partners in Contracting & Procurement, Treasury and other Finance teams. 

This role offers an excellent opportunity for highly motivated individual who takes pride in leading and driving global process improvements working across boundaries.  This involves leading strategic change discussions with senior stakeholders within and outside FO/Shell and playing an integral part in building Accounts Payable vision which is aligned with FO’s common agenda encompassing process improvement, talent development, knowledge retention and risk management. 

Key Accountabilities:

1. More Business Impact through Operational Excellence 

- Design and lead E2E process review to enable fit-for-purpose process/productivity measures and engagement forums across teams/functions 
- Lead and drive Continuous Improvement (CI) agenda including strengthening CI behaviours to effective ways of identifying opportunities and building CI pipeline 
- Coordinate and monitor to deliver process commitments on both value and costs, pertaining to but not limited to Integrated Process Plan 
- Build and maintain Process Experts and Superusers network that enables meaningful cross learnings and effective replications 
- Build and foster connections with relevant Process Excellence teams to facilitate timely issue resolutions, alignment of priorities and best practice sharing 

2. Project Management 

- Oversee the construction of projects from start to finish to achieve project cost, time and quality objectives.  
- Ensure delivery of timely and high-quality change management projects and migrations 
- Develop project plan and establish responsibility for assigned projects/task/milestones 
- Establish clear decision-making and communication processes; monitors overall AP project progress. 
- Lead E2E AP initiaves, coach and motivate Project /Process SME team members by leveraging best practices, experiences and know-how from other resources. 

3. Business Partnering:

- Articulates the drivers/issues of major Shell Businesses/Functions within Accounts Payable, including an appreciation of differing cultures, motivations and constraint  
- Uses commercial acumen and business driver understanding to influence business direction and co-create value. 
- Understands critical relationships within business and function and whom to engage in various situations  

4.  Leadership: 

- Lead, motivate and coach process experts to perform at their best potential  
- Develop and maintain competency framework for Process Experts 
- Role model ‘Leaders Developing Leaders’ and ‘Supervisors Expectations’  


The successful candidate will be a Senior Leader of Team with 5-7 Project Managers/Experts and Process SMEs. As a line manager he/she will be responsible for: 
- Managing Team’s workload; inspiring and motivating the Team to produce high quality deliverables 
- Managing various people processes for/within the area of responsibility, including but not limited to recruitment, training, performance appraisal, promotions and transfers, people development and succession planning 

Requirements:

- Degree in Business Admin, Accounting, Finance or equivalent 
- At least 7 years work experience, with at least 2 years in team management role ideally in a multinational corporate environment
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking with proven ability to prioritise and take ownership of issues and effect sustainable change. 
- Knowledge of accounting principles, accounting impact, financial risk and control methodology 
- Experience in Accounts Payable processes is advantageous 
- Ability to identify process/system improvement whilst keeping informed about relevant external developments is critical. 
- Project management & strong change management skills essential 
- A highly motivated, confident individual with exceptional multi -tasking capabilities able to work in a target driven, busy environment. 
- Ability to exercise control and influence over change initiatives that impact multiple internal teams and customers across varying locations. 
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills - ability to influence and contribute at a senior Global level and across multiple stakeholders/partners, internally and externally. 
- Excellent listening skills with the ability to identify common trends and underlying problems. 
- Ability to cultivate strong working relationships with stakeholders
