Job description:

This position will be responsible for providing proactive and effective support to the PTP-O (Projects Operated) business. PTP-O is responsible for delivery of conventional onshore and offshore oil and gas projects in Shell-operated upstream ventures in the UK. This position will support flagship and material projects for UK in the Capex and Abex (Abandonment / Decommissioning) space.
 
The candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge and expertise to perform his/her work independently with minimal supervision. The P&T Business Analyst must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as strong communication skills and be capable of developing effective relationships with his in-country team and various business partners. Also, the Analyst, is expected to have a close interface with the asset team as well.

 

Requirements:

 

Experience in the field of cost control, controlling, finance or accounting.
Advanced experience knowledge of MS Office and experience in SAP.
Thorough understanding of projects management environment allowing quality cost (budget) control.
Proven experience in the Upstream business, Cost Control, Project Accounting and Business Partnering are advantageous.
Financial acumen and strong business partnering skills allowing to build effective professional relations as well as challenge the Business to think through strategic issues and value opportunities.
Strong interpersonal skills capable of working closely with and influencing other staff at all levels within Finance and the Business.
Enthusiastic high energy individual that is keen to work in an area that operates at the very heart of the Operated Upstream business.
Able to work independently, taking initiative for own work and that of other staff where appropriate. Strong self-starting capabilities.
Willingness for hands-on involvement in solving day-to-day and significant unusual problems.
