Purpose of Role:

State Street is seeking a strong leader to provide leadership and management for key talent pipeline and will serve as the primary point of contact in the management of State Street’s university relationships in the region. 

In alignment with State Street’s workforce strategies and various business plans, the University Relations Manager will be responsible for developing University relations strategy, oversight of campus recruiting operations and execution of strategic projects and programs.

They will develop and maintain strong relationships with target schools in order to provide access to top students, deepen academic relationships to form mutually beneficial long-term partnerships. This is people manager role that will involve managing number of resources in various locations.

 

Role specifics

  • Develop and implement EMEA University Relations strategy and programmes in line with business workforce strategies and growth plans.
  • Oversee the programme management and execution of current State Street programme – i.e. internships
  • Provide direction to the firm and drive college strategy as a University market expert, developing strong relationships with key business stakeholders and HR/TA COE leads
  • Develop and maintain existing and new relationships with college placement offices, deans, faculty, students, alumni, and professional student organizations
  • Provide analytics to GHR and the business on the success and “Return on Investment” for the various programmes  
  • Develop a consistent recruitment assessment framework for the various State Street programmes, ensuring guidelines and training for all recruiters
  • Work with internal marketing to ensure fit for purposes collateral for EMEA and strong brand awareness of State Street among target colleges.
  • Oversee and drive new initiatives and programmes in relation to graduate recruitment

 

Managerial

  • Manage University Relations team within EMEA ensuring effective coverage to the key business locations
  • Mentor and develop UR staff by giving clear goals, objectives and training
  • Develop and encourage strong links between the global University Relations team and the EMEA recruiting teams

 

Skills and Experience

  • Proven track record of leading graduate recruitment function preferably for a financial services or professional services firm
  • Strong record of success in designing, planning, implementing and measuring results of campus recruiting events
  • Team management experience (especially remote teams)
  • Strong recruiting experience
  • Strong experience presenting and interacting with senior stakeholders
  • Fluent in English - excellent written and verbal communication

 

Required Competencies

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required
  • Must be able to multitask and manage projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong initiative, an eagerness to bring new ideas and the ability to develop strategic recommendations
  • Strong coordination and time management skills
  • Possess ability to consult and effectively negotiate with internal business stakeholders, and University/College partners
