Senior Billing Operations Specialist, Officer
Location: Kraków

Your new team

Global Billing Operations as a part of State Street's Finance Division is responsible for end to end client invoicing and reconciliation activities on investment funds. The team provide services for 7 EMEA countries: France, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland and the UK.

Your new role

Senior Billing Operations Specialist is responsible for all non-people management related tasks supervision. He/She will also support Billing Team Manager and/or Senior Billing Team Manager in daily billing process, presentations, process or client service transitions, projects and other assignments related to billing process. Senior Billing Operations Specialist is required to cooperate with both internal and external stakeholders and clients with special attention to risk excellence and full accountability for assigned tasks.

To be successful in the role

You need to have in-depth Accounting / Billing Operations experience, client relationship building skills and financial instruments knowledge. The position requires advanced command of German language as it will coordinate service delivery for German market.
 

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

General duties related to this position will include:

  • Providing extensive knowledge support in Billing area for the team
  • Supporting Billing Team Manager in monitoring and reporting daily task completeness to Senior Billing Team Manager and/or Operations Manager
  • Ownership of Billing process and identifying gaps and issues, proposing process improvements and leading the change
  • Preparation of reports and information's on billing team performance for Senior Billing Management
  • Providing mentorship and support for less experienced billing team members
  • Leading projects and identifying process changes' needs
  • Presenting highest level of risk excellence and be an example of ethical behaviour for the team
  • Acting as team/department representative on various committees and working groups
  • Being first point of contact for opinions and expertise of internal process excellence initiatives
  • Supervising complex billing process performed by the team, act as an SME and technical support
  • Managing internal programs and requirements e.g. Business Controls, Compliance, Audit, etc.
  • Act as a central contact point for clients queries related to billing in assigned area
  • Supporting Billing Team Manager in team development and hiring process

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Extensive knowledge of products in investment banking domain
  • At least 6 years of professional experience in financial accountancy, and/or billing and/or other relevant according to company’s management assessment
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting processes and accounting systems with special focus on billing area
  • Proficiency in German (B2/C1 level required)
  • Advanced English language skills (B2/C1 level required)
  • Well-developed client relationships building and client service skills
  • Very good numerical and analytical skills
  • Project management skills - experience in waterfall and/or agile mode of project implementation nice to have
  • Ability to find solutions and solve issues within area of billing
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools
  • Understanding of global Billing organization strategy and ability to translate global goals on local team processes
  • Proficiency in presentation skills and public speaking
