Senior Emerging Markets Insights Analyst

We are looking for a Senior Emerging Markets Insights Analyst / Emerging Markets Insights Analyst (contract position for about 9 months) to join our Capital Market Insights Group (CMIG) in Singapore or Poland to support our Emerging Market Equities (EME) investment team. As part of the Global Marketing Services, CMIG contributes to a variety of external use publications. The CMIG partners with Franklin Templeton investment management teams globally to augment their capacity by delivering high-quality top-down research support. Research developed to support and communicate investment views are easily leveraged for re-publication in presentations, topic papers, and other external-use communications.
Working with us, you will be responsible for:
- Independently develops custom research solutions and supports significant research projects
- Review work of junior level staff and lead research projects
- Contributes to the development of research practices
- Organizes and communicates viewpoints, analyses, and business activities to business partners
- Develops strong internal and external relationships
- Serves as team representative on selected initiatives
- Develops and shares intermediate expertise in equities and/or analytics discipline
- Collaborate and work with investment team to understand their point of view, socializes an expanded point of view, and encourages the team to adopt new research methodologies or processes
We are looking for candidates who:
- Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, or mathematics
- 7-11 years of financial analysis or investment management experience. (Job level will be determined by relevant experience)
- Prior experience in a marketing, sales or in an investment-related role within equities is highly desirable
- Strong ability to analyze, connect the investment philosophy, objectives, and narrative of underlying strategies and products to suit client needs
- Ability to collaborate and interact effectively and professionally at all levels of seniority and across globally
- Strong influencing skills and verbal and written communication with an emphasis on communicating research conclusions to a variety of audiences
- Excellent project management and organization skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Independent problem-solving skills and highly motivated individual
- CFA Charterholder (for Senior role) /CFA Level III or other professional financial qualification and/or relevant licenses would be advantageous
- Proficient usage of data sources and research platforms frequently used by investment research professionals (ex. Macrobond, Bloomberg, Factset, Morningstar Direct)
- Ability to use common statistical programming tools would be highly desirable (ex. R, Python, SQL, Excel, Alteryx, MATLAB, etc.)
- Ability to commence work no later than October 2020 with a targeted contract end date of June 2021
