Responsibilities:

- Systems Admin - systems maintenance & administration, technical support for Google Payroll Department (fixing bugs and errors, UAT)
- Automation of complex business processes for Google Payroll Department using tailored technologies (Google Apps Script, VBA, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, SQL and other )
- Development and testing of data validations using JEXL language
- Using your technical knowledge to provide guidance for clients and the other teams
- Conduct unit tests for developed code
- Development and implementation of best practices and process optimization
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting nonstandard errors during the key payroll periods
Introduction
The Developer/Business Analyst will work on Process Automation solutions internally with the business process & engineering teams to configure a robust payroll application that deals primarily with data validation for input / output files. Helping with the development of complex business logic and data validation code will be at the core of this role, as this coding will support our client’s global payroll platform. The candidate must have strong communication skills, business and IT analysis and requirement/need assessment skills. Candidate should have the ability to understand scripting language snippets (conditions/loops/variables/types/methods invocations/simple data structures - as array/list, dictionary/map). JEXL scripting language is similar to JavaScript and operates behind the scene (translates) on Java objects, so familiarity with java object syntax and methods invocation is preferred. Prior knowledge of JEXL scripting language is not necessarily required.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Bachelor/Master’s degree in computer science or similar technical/business field
- At least 1 year of general programming experience (JavaScript, Python, VB Script, VBA, SQL or Java)
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- The ability to manage critical timelines with multiple teams
- Strong process improvement skills
- Strong communication both written and spoken in English
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Knowledge of gSuite (Google Sheets especially) is a welcome addition
- Prior knowledge of JEXL scripting language would be an asset
