Purpose of the job:
- Supporting the implementation of Rewards programs that aligns with business strategy both globally and locally.
- Evaluating positions timely and in accordance to guidelines.
- Advising HR colleagues and managers on legal aspects in order to comply with local legislation.
- Working as a Benefits advisor to the regional team to establish a regional Rewards value proposition based on local competitiveness.
- Providing support for local negotiations with unions and/or work councils where appropriate.
- Providing detailed analytical support to the Rewards team including extensive research, ad hoc analyses and making recommendations utilizing both insights and analytics.
- Serving as an internal consultant, advising the HR community & leadership on Total Rewards policies and procedures, resolving issues as they arise.
- Supporting Regional Rewards Manager by managing governance, utilizing project management skills to plan and manage projects.
- Collaborating with Global Business Services, Business Unit HR and other members of the HR community.
- Independently handling day-to-day assigned tasks, initiatives and projects that arise, escalating cases as appropriate.
- Performing other duties as assigned by Regional Rewards Manager.
Key responsibilities:
- Developing and driving Rewards projects and initiatives to HR colleagues and AkzoNobel managers ensuring alignment with AN Directives, Rules and guidelines.
- Executing the annual compensation process for the Eastern Europe region (i.e. salary review, Short-Term Incentives).
- Analyzing the local market salary structure and keeping up to date to ensure competitive remuneration levels.
- Providing statistics to HR colleagues and managers on the market movement. Reporting data to 3rd parties.
- Developing relevant KPIs in cooperation with the Regional Rewards Manager aimed at measuring and improving HR performance in the business context.
- Contributing in the collaboration process with the Works Council of AkzoNobel.
- Performing job evaluation for various roles within the region, participating in job evaluation projects and training HRBPs and managers on job evaluation.
- Managing regional stakeholders and acting as a gatekeeper of the company’s directives.
- Participating in Benefits renewal exercises and being able to properly address any gaps.
Job requirements:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 4 years of professional hands-on experience in compensation is required.
- Understanding and working knowledge of compensation laws and regulations of Eastern Europe & Russia is required.
- Working knowledge of job evaluation and job analysis systems.
- Experience in client facing Total Rewards or Compensation position is required.
- Understanding and working knowledge of compensation laws and regulations is required.
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and other relevant HR IT systems.
- Business partnering, analytical, consultative, influence and negotiation skills are required.
- Must have good presentation and communication skills. Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, exceptional teaming and collaboration skills are required.
- Previous experience supporting global organizations is strongly preferred; operating with a global mindset with understanding and appreciation for regional differences.
- Native local and fluent English (both written and spoken).
