What is Corporate Accounting Team responsible for?

Corporate Accounting provides financial services, produces books of account reporting on the results of the operations and provides advisory services to a variety of customers across Europe and the Group.

In your daily work you will be able to work with other Finance departments from other European countries. You will assist in preparation of various reports on Franklin’s legal entities and perform various analysis on financial parameters, you will participate in the preparation of VAT and other tax related returns. In this role you will also provide day-to-day support to the Corporate Accounting Managers to ensure that deadlines are met and to provide proactive, value added assistance to the Corporate Accounting team and the business operations in Europe.

You will have the opportunity to participate in various optimization and automation projects, as well as implementation of new financial system.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Senior Accountant?

Responsibilities:

Daily and monthly Operations Activities

  • Perform monthly analytical review of corporate entities
  • Perform monthly reconciliation for Tax/VAT accounts
  • Ensure underlying transactions are posted on a timely basis by the Financial Accounting/Compensation/Transfer Pricing Operation teams and are in line with the relevant GAAP requirements
  • Prepare Board deliverables for the applicable corporate entities
  • Prepare Financial Statements for applicable corporate entities
  • Streamline processes and ensure best practices are adopted across the wider team
  • Prepares and submit Tax/VAT returns as applicable
  • Provide support for Year-end audit related issues across the region as required
  • Participate in team meetings across the region to understand needs and support where required
  • Assists in project work as required

Customer Service & working with Business Partners

  • The responsibilities of the role include working as part of a global team to provide quality customer focused services to all customers
  • Communicate effectively within the department and with other departments and external auditors or consultants independently and frequently to understand their needs, support them and analyze several financial data

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • A university degree in Accounting or in a related field (e.g. Economics, Finance)
  • A minimum of 3 years related experience in a global or multi-national organization, in similar department
  • Knowledge of relevant GAAP, reporting requirements and taxes required
  • Fluent in English (written & spoken)
  • Ability to maintain flexibility, to plan and organize tasks, and schedule work to meet deadlines
  • Ability to build collaborative, trust-based relationships with staff and customers in a local, international, and multi-site environment
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office applications)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
