What is Complex Securities Support Team responsible for?

Complex Securities Support group is responsible for researching and implementing new complex securities. Our team of experts works with investment management and operational personnel on expanding our global capabilities and resolving challenges with exotic and complex financial instruments. We also support senior management with evaluating use of these instruments across our portfolios.

Members of our team act as individual contributors for a broad range of initiatives: researching financial instruments, providing derivatives expertise, conducting business analyses, testing, problem solving. Instead of predefined work schedule, we work in a dynamic environment, focusing on business priorities and ensuring smooth processing of new investments.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Complex Securities Senior Specialist?

  • Supporting your Leader in management of a global committee focused on operational aspects of complex financial instruments.
  • Working with the experts from across the organization on researching and testing of new complex securities.
  • Documenting results of conducted research in the form of business and system requirements.
  • Assisting investment personnel with review of derivatives contracts and identification of supported financial instruments.
  • Supporting project teams by undertaking various roles (subject matter expert, business analyst, tester).
  • Helping operational teams with complex processes and troubleshooting, including development of new processes, enhancing existing workflows, solving complex operational problems.
  • Providing periodical updates and reports for management of various levels.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Solid understanding of financial instruments (with focus on derivatives and structured products).
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or economics.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial services, securities processing, or similar areas (preferably with experience working with derivatives and other complex securities).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to details.
  • Ability to lead, coordinate and support global initiatives.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in dynamic environment and met deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently or with limited guidance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (including presenting results of your work and influencing decisions).
  • Willingness to continually expand knowledge.
  • Previous experience with data analytics, transformation, and automation tools (Power Platform, Alteryx, Xceptor, Transformer or similar products) will be favorable.
