Team Description

The Investment Trust Team is responsible for providing Specialist Fund Accounting services to clients in respect of Investment Trust vehicles. The primary services provided are:

• Revenue Estimate reporting
• Expense Reconciliation
• Monthly Control Reviews of functions performed by Fund Accounting/ Expense/ Other Teams

The department consists of 16 staff across 2 teams and Investment Trust Team manages 5 client relationships.

The team is based in the BNY Mellon office in Wroclaw, Poland.

Job Purpose

The jobholder is responsible for the performance and supervision of work necessary to provide Specialist Fund Accounting services for a number of Investment Trusts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Revenue Estimate forecasts for Investment Trusts ensuring timely and accurate delivery to agreed timetables and SLA standards and ensure compliance with appropriate accounting standards
• Prepare Expense Reconciliation schedules and information in relation to Investment Trust’s board meetings ensuring timely and accurate delivery to agreed timetables and SLA standards
• Complete monthly control reviews to validate the accuracy of accounting records
• Liaise with internal and external parties relevant to Trust deliverables (includes Oversight, Expense, Tax, vendors and others)
• Ensure effective recording and resolution of external / internal queries
• Complete returns for Office for National Statistics
• Other project work and ad-hoc tasks as required

Job Specific Competencies

• Experienced accountant with sound financial accounting knowledge
• Knowledge of the securities industry
• Experience of fund accounting environment [preferable]
• Excellent computer skills, in particular Excel.
• Ability to interact with the business to understand requirements and perform analysis
• Deadline driven with effective time management and ability to work under pressure
• Adaptable, flexible and proactive
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
