TRM is a 2nd line of defense function, reporting to the Chief Risk Officer of BNY Mellon, that provides oversight and challenge to the company’s Technology organization and related business areas. The goal of TRM is to make sure that technology, cyber / information security, resiliency, data and technology third party risks are clearly understood by the first line of defense, transparently reported through governance and managed within the defined risk appetite and risk management framework.

Reporting Line:

Senior Specialist, Technology Risk Management will report to the LOB TRM Central Team Lead, within the Technology Risk Management function. 

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Technology Risk Management with IT background to join our team to help us provide our TRM services and achieve our strategic objectives. The candidate will work on multiple TRM processes, partnering closely with the TRM team and other stakeholders in Technology and the business to deliver high quality, timely 2LOD risk reviews in a fast-paced environment.

The role is part of the Line of Business Technology Risk Management Team located in Poland and will be responsible for supporting the global team who provide second line of defence oversight / challenge over several Technology Processes as well as oversee Technology Risk identification and reporting. This is a position for someone who is both analytical, but also has experience in technology, technology processes or control frameworks.

The candidate must have experience in Information Technology (IT), either in IT Infrastructure, Application Development, IT Project Management, IT Controls, IT Change, Incident and Problem Management, or IT Audit.  Understanding of risk assessment / management of technology risk would be an advantage however, training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Data sourcing, analysis, risk conclusions, actions, raising of 2LOD Challenges and Control Issues and reporting / presentation to support key risk decision making
  • Creates and delivers Reporting for Line 2 perspective on technology risks to the Line of Business TRM Leads and Senior Executives
  • Participates in independent review of - Root Cause Analyses, Business originated Incidents and Lesson Learned – including identification of the Technology Control that failed or were absent based on our control framework
  • Represents TRM during the root cause analysis process for significant technology incidents
  • Supports various process including Risk Reviews, Program & Project Governance, Application Risk Profiling, Business Risk Profiling
  • Supports team members on different types of risk reviews, metric and KRIs, risk tooling
  • Supports key risk decision making at various level of the organization through analysis of a range of multiple data sources around Technology risk including risk assessments, conclusions, remediation action plans for reporting
  • Executes on risk management processes & procedures and challenges existing practices for continuous improvement

Qualifications:

  • The candidate must have strong communication skills and demonstrate a record of accomplishment and excellence in delivery
  • Bachelor degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • 3+ years of work experience in IT or Technology Audit
  • Understanding of information security, cyber, technology control principles and best practices
  • A strong bias toward data based qualitative risk data and risk conclusions rather than subjective reporting is required
  • Project Management certificate would be an advantage as well as knowledge of ITIL processes
  • Teamwork and collaboration are essential in this role – along with a strong sense of ownership and drive for delivery
  • Effective English verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Ability to prioritize competing priorities
