Job description:
Team:

The CP Operations Upstream Projects and Wells (UPW) team is part of the Global and EMEAR Region CP Operations function. The NL/NAM part of the UPW team within EMEAR is responsible for negotiating and managing an Operational and Tactical portfolio of Contracts, which includes a wide range of Low Risk HSSE Contracts and many Medium Risk HSSE Contracts.


Position:

Focus will be to support Upstream NL/NAM operational and tactical contracts, the successful candidate will take immediate responsibility for 2 Categories of Contracts for the Upstream NL Contract Portfolio based out of Shell SBO Krakow, Poland. Operational/Tactical Contracts (for both Materials and Services) mix is known and the team member will work closely with CP colleagues in Assen supporting these categories of spend.

Proximity to the key business stakeholders in NL/NAM entity in Assen in a dynamic and fluid environment is important for business continuity and added value. Though the role is remote from NL, virtual connect using Skype and video will be essential and extended time spent in NL/NAM Offices in Assen will be a requirement for the role to engage with CP colleagues and Business Stakeholders. Someone who is ready to hit the ground running with solid stakeholder management, proactivity, flexibility and positive/strong Leadership Attributes and Behaviours (focus on all Individual Performer Growth Performance Authenticity and Collaboration attributes) will be critical for the role.

This job provides great opportunities:

  • Learning Basics of CP In Role via direct managing a Low Risk portfolio of Contracts with team lead and wider CP colleagues support

  • Interaction and strong connect with a variety of stakeholders across various parts of the Upstream business through a CP lens

  • Practically demonstrate such imperative Group behaviours as Commercial Mindset, External Focus and Speed of Delivery

  • For both an established CP Professional and/or Professional from outside of CP for a first role in CP


Main Accountabilities:

Management of allocated Contracts Portfolio (~ 50-60 Contracts), running into several $100M aggregated spend (final figure to be determined).

Dimensions of role:
  • Develop, tender and negotiate contracts in line with the business demand.

  • Strategically manage low/medium risk contract spend by working in close coordination with Enterprise/Global and Category Managers and CP in the Business colleagues

  • Maximize value from existing Operational Contracts and implement new Local and Framework Agreements and Category Contracts

  • Ensure continuity of supply through managing ad-hoc new business requirements in accordance with Operational spend management principles

  • Contribute heavily to the NL/NAM Upstream Cost Improvement Savings targets tied to overall NAM Business targets

  • Analysis of cost basis of procurement operations in the existing contracts for continuous improvement.

  • Identify CP strategic opportunities to improve the total cost of ownership
  • Adapt rapidly to changing circumstances/priorities
  • Ability to work as part of a virtual team
  • University Degree required or equivalent CP experience
  • Sound understanding of general Business CP requirements and CP's role and contribution to Business bottom line
  • Ability to informally manage and lead a team
  • Some awareness of SAP and RtP process is beneficial.
  • Experience with commercial transactions or negotiation is essential.
  • Ability to make decisions and execute with support of stakeholders
  • Proven track record of execution excellence and delivering results
  • Highly driven team player with ability to build long term relationships
