Tax Team Manager
Work location: Kraków

Job description:

Team Manager should ensure that Finance Operations (FO) Tax team volume and value compliance work is performed in an effective, controlled and efficient manner. Team Manager will be responsible for setting goals for his/her direct reports aligned with Tax Operational, Managerial and Strategic metrics and provide necessary coaching to enhance team’s performance. 
Team Manager will use Contineous Improvement methodology to optimize the team and the process from efficiency and effectiveness perspective. 

Team Manager needs to be able handle a variety of tax issues and activities, utilizing experience and analytical skills to assess complex problems and design solutions under challenges imposed by tight monthly and quarterly closing deadlines.  Team Manager will develop leadership capabilities by giving more support and coaching to respective Team Members. This position will report to the Senior Team Manager, or Operations Manager in the FO, and will liaise with the respective businesses based across various geographical locations.

Subordinates - numbers and role
 - Up to 15 FTEs (Tax Specialists )
- Tax returns – VAT, Excise duty, local taxes
- Up to USD 2 billion indirect tax receivables/ liabilities annually

 

Requirements:

 

  • University degree, preferably in area of Finance and Accounting

  • Accounting, law or tax working knowledge is required

  • Must have at least 6 years of work experience in various financial positions including experience in tax compliance or advisory

  • Must have experience in managing teams in area of Tax or Finance

  • Must have working knowledge and application of indirect tax, controls, standard streamline and accounting principles

  • Must be able to build and lead a team and manage/integrate with others in different functions and in a multicultural and diverse business environment.

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels including communication with senior stakeholders.

  • Should have highly developed analytical skills with perceptive and clear think strategic abilities

  • Fluent English is a must

  • Experience of working in a virtual environment.

  • Knowledge of various ERP systems and MS Office 

  • Good knowledge of Excel

  • Strong and proven experience in project management (Six Sigma Certification will be an asset)
