Finance Associate in Tax Department (with Portuguese)

Job description:

Finance Associate in Tax Department role is a part of Manage Indirect Tax team in Krakow. We are Centre of Expertise for Royal Dutch Shell worldwide for indirect taxes. MIT Team calculates VAT, GST (Good Sales Tax), excise duty and local taxes for  Shell entities. This position is an excellent opportunity to build experience in Tax area within multinational well-established company based on EU tax legislation and getting to know local tax specifics of other countries. This role also offers an opportunity of career progression

 

  • Complete less complex indirect tax related accounting activities upon which indirect tax returns depends, including control checks of transactional data to identify any errors or anomalies
  • Cooperate effectively with other accounting teams 
  • Support reconciliation of VAT, GST (Good Sales Tax), excise duty and local taxes for Shell entities balance sheet accounts analysis
  • Support preparation as well as timely and accurately delivery of indirect tax returns to the Indirect Tax Authorities
  • Prepare intrastat reporting
  • Support indirect tax reviews and statutory audits
  • Initiate and lead actions to solve issues, improve and standardize process
  • Manage excellent relationships with tax advisors, business representatives and other relevant stakeholders 

 

Requirements:

  • University degree preferably in Economics, Finance, Accountancy or a related field
  • Min. 1 year experience in accountancy/ finance
  • Good working knowledge of Word and MS Outlook
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Fluent Portuguese (written and spoken)
  • Communication skills
  • Improvement focus
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Pro-active and ‘can do’ attitude
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under time/quality pressure
