Job description:

PURPOSE:

This is a high profile global position, leading the team of Contracting & Procurement Professionals to enable and deliver the most competitive and sustainable End to End Supply Chains for DS – Global Commercial.
 
Demonstrate strong leadership and be the CP Ops representative for CP Global Commercial. 
 
Ensure simple and effective CP Operations and highly effective and efficient RtP process day-in day-out as well as through periods of organizational, system and process change, with a strong involvement and leadership in SHARP implementation and stabilization.
 
Drive Compliance with CP process and assurance programs and ensure a high quality of Contract Basics as foundation for TQ performance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • As an active member of the EMEAR GC LT (Global Commercial), build highly collaborative relationships, ensuring that CP strategies and processes are fully aligned with the business objectives and that CP bottom line contribution (Cost Improvements) are fully reflected in Business Plans.

  • Consistently drive operational excellence, business understanding and business value mindset.

  • Deliver functional excellence in the Sourcing and Execution of contracts and in the RtP Process. This includes management of cycle times in accordance with business needs and ensuring CP Operations as an organization and CP Operations managed processes are trusted and felt as easy to work with.

  • Ensure Supply Chain Strategy supports Goal Zero Aspiration through implementation of robust Contractor Safety Management practices and alignment to business personal and process safety Goal Zero focus areas.

  • Provide leadership for the Contract Portfolio managed by CP Ops, to ensure it is as competitive as possible, taking market developments and local content needs into account. Demonstrate competitiveness through a variety of proof points, best in class metrics, ‘should cost’ models and external benchmarking. Develop negotiation strategies and lead the more complex negotiations within the scope of the business/asset/category.

  • Ensure a strong connect across the E2E CP organisation, the Global GC Ops teams and the wider global CP organization, to ensure joint sharing and leverage of best practices. Ensure this connection is effective at all levels in the organisation

  • Through effective and collaborative Supplier Relationship Management, ensure a competitive supplier landscape which fosters continuous performance improvements in key metrics (HSSE, Operational and Cost) and delivers on Shell’s Sustainable Development targets.

  • Identify and resolve non-compliance to the process through awareness, training and escalation, working with other functional disciplines (e.g. FO/E, FO/D, Ask-CP, CSD) as needed.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement principles to create a performance culture, incl. with support of Visual Management. Drive and support CP Front Line liberation, and proactively look for opportunities to push the organization forward to achieve even greater efficiencies.

  • Identify and implement / support Continuous Improvement opportunities to improve Operational Effectiveness e.g. PO cycle time, reduction of stand-alone POs, contract coverage, automation, etc

  • Proactively lead, analyse and drive Channel Management & RtP compliance. Ensure the correct and most efficient RtP Channel (P card/ Trading house etc) is used to execute transactional requirements. 

  • Drive a model of individual Ownership & Accountability across the CP Operations Delivery team

  • Lead, support and personally develop a high performing team of empowered CP professionals aligned with business goals and focused on operational excellence and commercial results. Foster customer mind-set and collaboration at pace with the business. Enable people to succeed by removing barriers to performance, addressing underperformance and rewarding success. 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Commercial experience in Category Management, Procurement Delivery/Operations

  • An ability to build effective working relationships at senior levels in the business and across CP is essential.

  • Proven track record of developing and leading high performing teams and individuals, with demonstrated ability to interact seamlessly and effectively with all levels of management.

  • Highly tuned commercial acumen and curiosity with demonstrated ability to develop and deliver value from complex deals.

  • Highly driven, ‘can do’, inspiring, able to articulate in a crisp and precise manner. Is understood and is credible at all levels in Shell.

  • Focused on tangible value outcomes for the enterprise, translates strategy to outcomes. Brings external market/supplier into the conversation (curiosity).  Mix of operational experience and global/regional corporate roles, multiple LoB. Uncompromising on HSSE, ethics & compliance is a ‘must have’ in all CP roles.

  • Collaborates and integrates within CP, Functions and with business, enterprise first. Understands business and speaks business language. Has effective influencing skills and can flex his/her style to audience. Proven track record of commercial acumen.

  • Continuous improvement and simplification mindset. Enables and empowers team to contribute, recognise people (Engage & Perform). Passionate about developing people.

  • Good understanding of RtP process and what drives performance and functional excellence in RtP
