Job Summary

Due to a rapid growth of the Financial Reporting Operations at State Street, we currently have a number of open senior/managerial roles, both within the area of people management as well as technical / process management.

At this level you will be required to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of relevant work processes alongside a broad understanding of related and interfacing activities to provide effective management of Financial Reporting.

You will be expected to work closely with your manager to plan and deliver projects assigned and perform day to day tasks pertinent to the department’s activity. A major focus will be on department strategy, procedural, staff, process-improvement and general management issues together with liaison with the Donor Site.

The implementation of change will be a major part of the role.

Principal Tasks

  • Providing a high class financial reporting service to the internal clients assigned,
  • Cooperating with multiple internal and external stakeholders,
  • Managing the audit process of assigned investment funds,
  • Managing the operations of the financial reporting teams assigned to you within the department,
  • Proposing and/or implementing procedural changes,
  • Initiating and overseeing tasks within the continuous improvement drive to ensure that the department is efficient and seen as customer and quality driven.
  • Maintaining and developing expertise and provide advice to our clients, demonstrating sound judgement and an understanding of the business,
  • Training, coaching, evaluating staff that directly report to you, set clear goals for your staff to ensure they have a clear development path,
  • Observing, inspecting and evaluating the performance of assigned and non-assigned staff in the department.
  • Involvement in recruitment and selection of new staff.
  • Delegating tasks to your staff as part of staff development,
  • Being able to deputise for your manager as required from time to time,
  • Taking on ad hoc project work as required from senior management.

     

    Qualifications

    A person with a minimum of 4-8 years of experience in a financial reporting and/or audit environment, including people or process management experience. Qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent will be an additional advantage.

    Industry Knowledge

    Comprehensive procedural, technical and product knowledge of Financial Reporting and/or Audit processes.

     

     

     

    Core Competencies

  • Experience in managing a team or a process,
  • PC literate with very good knowledge of Microsoft Office,
  • Knowledge of accounting frameworks including Irish GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP and UK SORP,
  • Experience in managing the audit process,
  • Enquiring mind and willingness to investigate and solve problems ,
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels,
  • Experience of working to deadlines, good time management skills,
