Job description:

Within Shell Projects & Technology, our Contracting & Procurement Operations (CP Ops) Delivery Teams are responsible for procuring goods and services from third parties on behalf of Upstream, Downstream, Projects and Wells.  CP Ops works in partnership with each business to consolidate our Spend and manage supplier relationships to enhance our purchasing power and deliver value and significant financial benefits to the Business.
 
The CP Ops Upstream Americas Team is part of the global CP Ops function and supports the Unconventionals and Deepwater businesses.  We are responsible for negotiating and managing a Tactical and Operational portfolio (which includes Low – Medium HSSE Risk contracts), driving use of the proper procurement channels (e.g. Trading Houses, P-Card, PO etc.), managing tail spend, and supporting EFA implementation as appropriate in line with Category Strategies. 

Accountabilities:
 

 

  • Help drive RtP operational excellence and continuous improvement to top-quartile RtP performance.

  • Manage the conversion of Purchase Requisitions into Purchase Orders

  • Provide commercial and RtP advice to business partners and other functional groups

  • Identify and resolve RtP non-compliance though awareness and training of stakeholders

  • Maintain Purchase Orders and resolve any associated queries on a timely basis. This involves close liaison with the designated invoice query focal point as well as various key business partners in the Americas.

  • Work with Accounts Payable (FO-E) to resolve outstanding invoices (usually PO or Business Service Entry related)

  • Identify and assist in implementing potential RtP Continuous Improvement opportunities

  • Help identify and execute opportunities to maximise use of SAP Blueprint automation capabilities

  • Participate in ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are completed and reviewed quarterly (min.)

  • Vetting of new vendor requests

  • Assist in assessing tax implications for all relevant purchase orders

 

Requirements:

  • Experience with RtP processes and ERP (SAP) System functionality

  • Effectively communicate high level Requisition-to-Pay (RtP) policies, processes, systems

  • Effectively communicate correct procurement system and channel per spend category and advise the business

  • Understand the key interfaces and interdependencies between CP processes, controls and systems and those of other Shell departments such as Finance, Projects, Order to Cash (OTC), etc. and external partners

  • Knowledge of the Manual of Authority, i.e. can describe who can commit money on behalf of Shell and understand Shell’s governance/contract signatory process and where this ties in to the RtP process and systems

  • Second shift (14.00 – 22.00) will be introduced, subject to business need, (employees on 2nd shift will be paid extra)
