Job description:

Finance Analyst for Shell’s New Energies business – partnering the business to delivery planning, appraisal, reporting and latest estimates.

Dimensions:
* This is an exciting opportunity to join the New Energies business with Shell. In 2016 a new Line of Business was created with an investment focus on New Fuels (Hydrogen, electric, BioFuels, E-Mobility), Solar, Wind, , building more carbon efficient energy solutions.
* Maintain established reporting disciplines and build strong relationships with business stakeholders
* Continue to build the scope of this role with support from the onshore stakeholders for the incumbent to really ‘own’ the finance scope in this position. s
* Lead specific elements of the annual operating plan & Latest Estimate processes
* Drive Continuous Improvement Initiatives

Principle

Accountabilities
* Take the lead in creating monthly MI, create fit for purpose reporting packs including commentaries and deliver to stakeholders.
* Report directly to the Integrated Gas directorate team on a monthly basis for Plan, Actuals & Latest Estimate
* Lead the Latest estimate exercise on a quarterly basis and consolidate submissions in line with reporting requirements set out. Challenge submissions for cost effectiveness and run rates against business deliverables and objectives.
* Overall accountability for Planning submission process and Systems integrity.
* Provide information to support Quarterly Appraisal Process.
* Support Stakeholder requests.
* Ownership of the wider team knowledge sharing, SharePoint.
* Be on Point for Ad-Hoc queries relating to Plan, Actuals, Latest Estimate and general cost queries.

Special Challenges:-

* Fully understand P&L and have expertise on the various systems used.
* Experience of working in Global/Virtual environment.

* Ability to achieve results in fast paced environment and ability to anticipate and react to changes in reporting requirements.
* Ability to build strong working relationships with all levels of stakeholders

 

Requirements:

Qualifications

Required:
* Qualified (ACCA/CIMA/CA) or can demonstrate qualification through experience
* Financial analysis experience essential
* High competency in Excel
* Self starter to review issues and proactively identify solutions
