External Relations Advisor - Release of Technical Information

Job description:

The Release of Technical Information (RTI) is part of Shell’s mandatory disclosure process. It helps to ensure that employees comply with US securities law and that they comply with Shell’s Intellectual Property (IP) Standard. It also creates auditable records that documents the accountability for the information that Shell makes publicly available.

 

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all requests to disclose Shell technical information to the public. 

  • Reviews submitted technical documents on the basis of whether they conform to ER disclosure guidelines, conditionally approving (or rejecting) them accordingly. 

  • Manages the computerised RTI system,

  • Liaise with the relevant IT support as and when necessary to ensure the proper functioning of the RTI system. 

  • Ensure Shell's external technical communications (i.e., scientific or engineering presentations/papers) do not compromise the IP rights of either Shell or other parties and otherwise comply with the Shell Disclosure Standard. 

 

Requirements:

  • Min. 2 years of experience in communication scope, preferentially in an industry that relies heavily on science or engineering. 

  • Demonstrable understanding of the oil and gas business. 

  • Ability to work independently, set priorities and manage fluctuating workload under time pressure. 

  • Self-starter showing high degree of personal initiative, drive and desire to come up with more efficient solutions. 

  • English min. C1 

  • Ability to work virtually with people of diverse cultures and from different technical disciplines. 

  • Computer literate; familiarity with SharePoint.
