We are looking for a talented and experienced SQL Developer to join our Fund Administration Systems organization in Krakow. As a SQL Developer, you will be primarily responsible for developing and enhancing business applications using SQL and Java. This position requires an individual experienced in programming and analysis who will support all phases of the project lifecycle – i.e. more broadly than in a pure development role.

Responsibilities:
- Assists in development of system and unit test plans/scripts and coordinates performance testing, provides and communicates written test results to team, resolves problems and suggests enhancements as needed
- Produces reliable and easy code for new and modified programs, conforming to departmental standards around documentation and structure
- Under limited supervision, assists with analyses of most phases of application systems and programming activities
- Supports research and fact-finding to develop or modify information systems
- Communicates and escalates change requests, as needed
- Aids clients with software applications
- Financial Responsibility - Assists with preparing input for business cases and tracking ROI
- SDLC Responsibility - Assists in the routine delivery of services and assigned tasks in compliance with established standards/SDLC
Requirements:
- SQL – must be able to write moderate to advanced SQL queries
- Ability to optimize SQL and PL/SQL stored procedures, identify bottlenecks
- Experience with databases (Oracle, TSQL)
- Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming and Design Patterns
- Knowledge and applying SOLID principles in practice
- Must understand basic principles of data modeling
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
- Good communicator, keen to collaborate and share knowledge
- Ability to work independently – self-starter who is a quick learner with little guidance
- Fluent English
Technical attributes – highly desirable:
- Java – Experience in core Java
- Experience with WebServices (SOAP, REST)
- Basic knowledge of ORM frameworks (JPA, Hibernate, OpenJPA)
- Experience with test framework: JUnit, TestNG, Mockito
- PERL and VBScript
- Knowledge and application of TDD principles in practice
- Ability to interpret and troubleshoot applications using logs (troubleshooting Java memory issues, analyzing java heap/thread dumps, troubleshooting application issues)
- Basic knowledge of Unix platforms
- Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
Technical attributes – nice to have:
- Familiar with Tomcat
- Web development skills – experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and JavaScript frameworks (AngularJS, jQuery)
- Familiar with message queue brokers (WebSphere MQ, Oracle AQ)
- Automated build platforms/continuous integration experience and knowledge (Jenkins, Hudson, maven, gradle)
- Familiar with AutoSys – create jobs, calendars and schedules
- Shell scripting knowledge, ability to work in Unix environment
- Experience with banking and financial industry
