Who we're looking for

Deloitte’s Debt & Capital Advisory team is seeking a Manager based in Warsaw to support its growing business in Poland and the CEE region. The successful candidate will be expected to have the ability to work across a broad range of debt products and markets andd will join a dedicated team focused on Debt, Structured Finance, Project Finance, Leverage Finance and Alternative Lending space.

This highly visible role requires the ability to work in a focused team environment, evidencing strong communication skills and having an excellent understanding of financial modelling. The role also requires the individual to have excellent written and presentation skills, good organization skills and knowledge and experience of closing debt transactions. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual seeking to make a significant impact within a large financial service group by assisting in the continued growth of our dynamic financial advisory business.

We are looking for individual who demonstrates the following personal attributes and qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant (transactional) experience gained within the banking or investment industry with exposure to leveraged finance, debt capital markets, structured finance/securitization, restructuring and/or direct lending, project finance projects,
  • Professional services / client facing experience, working as a financial advisor to regional clients, including owner managed and private equity backed companies,
  • Completed Masters degree in Finance or related,
  • CFA or other related professional designation – or in advanced progress of acquiring,
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills and the ability to translate quantitative analysis to qualitative advice,
  • Project management skills and demonstrable ability to deliver high quality work,
  • Ability to undertake detailed financial/commercial analysis for inclusion in presentations and client reports
  • Consistent record of building and maintaining lasting internal and external relationships,
  • Willingness to take ownership for and to drive marketing and business development activity,
  • Exceptional people skills and proven ability to mentor and develop more junior colleagues,
  • Proven understanding and experience of the Polish debt markets,
  • Excellent relationships in the Polish corporate finance market, with particular focus on local lenders (banks and funds) and Private Equity sponsors,
  • Detailed understanding of banking documentation and legal structuring of debt finance (preferably practical experience in LMA),
  • Excellent analytical skills, including an advanced knowledge of financial modelling techniques,
  • The ability to progress the legal transaction process from selection of lender to execution of documentation and drawdown,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – in Polish and English.

Your future role

As a Manager in our Debt & Advisory Team you will provide high-quality and independent debt & capital advice on the wide range of complex and strategic financing challenges our Clients are facing. Your role within this team will be to help Clients achieve their funding objectives, which will incorporate a wide range of debt engagements including advice on optimal capital structures, raising acquisition or growth financing, execute refinancing processes and the restructuring of existing debt facilities. As a Manager, you will be responsible for the execution and implementation of projects. You will also be responsible for internal Team’s development - sharing experiences and knowledge to colleagues. The successful candidate will be also expected to build and take ownership of Client relationships through business and client development responsibilities and to lead engagements on a day to day basis.

Some of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Proactive management of Client relationships,
  • Leading all aspects of capital raising engagements (debt, mezzanine and quasi-equity), including strategic analysis, deal preparation, marketing and deal negotiation,
  • Leading capital advisory and treasury advisory engagements (optimizing capital structures, credit rating advisory),
  • Developing, and assisting team members in developing, comprehensive financial models,
  • Leading teams and project manage multiple engagements simultaneously,
  • Originating new business,
  • Oversight of creating and managing detailed financial modelling to test alternative capital structures and financing options,
  • Preparing of information packs, management presentations, financial analysis and Client communications Industry/company research for both deal origination and transaction analysis.

About the team

Debt & Capital Advisory team is an integral part of Deloitte's Financial Advisory practice, providing independent advice and execution on debt market opportunities and conditions, advising on: structuring of new debt issues and refinancing in the bank and debt capital markets, restructuring of under-performing companies (in terms of the capital structures), structuring of acquisition finance for corporates and leveraged buyouts; project finance advisory (including PPP advisory), and asset-based financing. The team works with a full suite of Clients from global Entities to mid-market and smaller private companies.

Our work typically requires advice on:

  • Evaluating business plans for robustness and sensitivity,
  • Capital structure analysis,
  • Financial modelling and debt capacity analysis,
  • Assessing financing products and markets,
  • Managing ongoing relationships with potential funders,
