General Position Definition:
 
Shell Bitumen is a fully integrated business. Our activities under control cover all key aspects of a downstream operation, including Make (own refineries), Buy, Blend (own/third party depots), Move, Market (across Europe and Africa).
Starting 2019, Shell Bitumen Europe/Africa will co-locate its key business activities in Krakow, creating a variety of long-term career options in an ever changing, demanding but highly rewarding work environment.

Drive optimal Pricing in the Markets and create additional value by identifying and acting on margin improvement opportunities.
 
Faultless Pricing:
Deliver perfect pricing and exposure operations that leave no dollar on the table and lead to high levels of customer and front-line staff satisfaction.
 
Principal accountabilities:

 

  • Value Generation (Price and Margin Optimization)

  • Accurate & efficient sales price administration

  • Accurate & efficient purchase price (costs) administration

  • Prompt and accurate execution of exposure management actions in support of the exposure manager

 
Principal Responsibilities:

  • Ensure routine price, cost and risk marketing administration is flawless.

  • Execute exposure management interventions in-line with tactics defined by exposure manager

  • Monitoring exposure in support of the Exposure manager.

  • Operate current business analytics and information resources.

  • Work to improve operational performance in-line with the agreed performance indicators

  • Within your work area strives to improve operational performance and efficiency.

  • Share best practices with and learn from the regional & global pricing community

 
Special challenges:
 
Through your intimate contact with prices and costs be able to move beyond “the number on the page” to understanding and acting on the business implications of particular data points and trends.
This role experiences periods of intense activity (month, quarter and year end) which are tightly time bound and critical to business operations.

Essential

 

  • Commercial and Enterprise First mind set

  • Detailed working knowledge of B2B hydrocarbon pricing practice, processes and tools.

  • Highly skilled and competent in the use of SAP with respect to pricing & billing.

  • Technically capable and able to use of end user computing tools such as Excel, Access, and Sharepoint.

  • Numerate and able to present complex data in simple intuitive ways

  • Analytical skills, problem solving mind-set, preferably with a financial background

  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Knowledge of French, and/or German is a plus. (fluent English is a must)

  • Knowledgeable in the areas of Bitumen, Fuel Oil & Residue markets
