Job description:
The Upstream Revenue Accounting & Control Specialist role is responsible for managing the Revenue Accounting activities which encompasses the recording of oil & gas revenues and payments of related royalty, transportation and other expenses. This role is required to monitor/validate/analyse and help ensure they are accurate. The role requires understanding process and infrastructure, business and commercial relations across various Shell countries in Europe, Asia & Africa. It also gives great opportunity to work closely with business stakeholders, support divestment, acquisitions and global projects led by Shell.
Accountabilities:
- Prepare, control and issue sales invoices for various groups of products for intragroup and third party customers in line with commercial agreements
- Execute and control the billing of the hydrocarbon tariff income
- Maintain Tariff Expenditure process in cooperation with Expenditure department
- Prepare accurate and timely information for group accounting, reporting and management information
- Reporting sales results for internal and external stakeholders
- Maintaining product stock accounting and valuation process
- Managing and executing commercial agreements - implementing new/changed agreements in to financial systems
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations (Status of Accounts Reporting)
- Intragroup reconciliation
- Providing data for external auditors/ taking part in JV audits
- Assisting with setting up new sales contracts
- Ensure operational and design effectiveness of the controls within areas of responsibility
- Participate in upcoming systems implementation and CI projects
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners
- Prepare revenue analysis for different stakeholders
Requirements:
- Good knowledge of Financial Accounting
- Preferably degree in Finance, Accounting, Economy
- At least 4-5 years of working experience in Finance/Commercial role
- Strong analytical skills specifically around data mining and interpretation
- Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective communication with various stakeholders
- Ability to work independently without ready-made solutions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to tight deadlines
- Ability to build relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
- Responsibility for making own decisions
- Commitment to deliver
- Previous experience with SAP would be an advantage
- Fluent English
