Job description:

Complete in a timely and accurate manner all assigned complex process activities related to:
 
General Ledger - performing month end closing activities (e.g. accruals, provisions, prepayments, exchange rates calculations, partner billing, etc.)
Preparation and reconciliation of financial statements for various entities
Group Reporting - delivering accurate information into Shell Group accounting and reporting systems (data submission, validation of errors)
Preparation of Management Information
Fixed Assets - booking and calculation of depreciation, impairments, write offs etc.
Statutory – providing data for the purposes of the Statutory Report together with all the necessary commentaries as well as responding to related queries on financials.
Understanding the reported numbers for the supported entity and monitoring /challenging values on critical accounts
Providing accurate commentaries on significant movements in the period /financial review
Cooperate with relevant stakeholders within the Shell Finance Operations organization (Krakow and other FO Centres) as well as stakeholders in Shell business units to deliver good quality accounting and reporting
Performing balance sheet reconciliations (Status of Accounts Reporting)
Execution of financial controls, ensuring operational and design effectiveness of the controls within areas of responsibility
Provide support to other team members on complex accounting issues
Participating and leading Reporting & Analysis process projects across various locations
Initiating and leading process improvements
Resolving and escalating issues timely and effectively
Complying with team, process and global policies and procedures

 

Requirements:

 

At least 4 years professional experience in Finance or Accounting
University degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent courses with experience
ACCA/CIMA/IFRS or similar post-graduate qualification would be beneficial
Experience in financial statements preparation
Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) is desirable
Excellent written and spoken business level in English
Very good knowledge of all accounting processes or previous experience in other departments within Finance Departments
Strong analytical skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Expected to identify opportunities for optimization, streamlining processes and achieving greater organizational efficiency
Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
Ability to adapt to changing environment
Very good working knowledge of Word, Excel and MS Outlook
Experience of using a major ERP system such as SAP, SUN, would be beneficial
