Interested in engaging with thought leaders in Technology Risk Management driving technological innovation and transformation at a large financial services organization? The Technology Business Controls team engages with enterprise programs to understand strategic initiatives, assess risk at the outset and drive the integration of risk reduction throughout the program lifecycle.

 

Key responsibilities of this role include

  • Provide leadership to and oversight of Technology Risk Management capabilities being implemented across technology, ensuring inherent risk is adequately assessed, appropriate control investment decisions are made, and remaining residual risk measurement and remediation governance are aligned to the firm’s risk appetite and strategic objectives.
  • Provide expertise and leadership to drive innovation in the Technology Business Controls organisation spanning from Emerging & Transformation Risk to Read-across assessments
  • Understand and manage Technology Risk challenges and opportunities in a global Financial Services enterprise. Drive improvement opportunities and incorporate into the Technology risk strategy.
  • Drive organisational focus, facilitate discussion to address conflicting points of view, and drive decision making on implementation of sound IT risk management principles, controls and practices.
  • Assure corporate policy compliance and key control adherence through collaboration of key stakeholders. Work with technology teams to ensure assignments of subject matter experts and produce plans for the governance of key risk reduction and control capability initiatives.
  • Manage local technology risk team and partner with global and local risk partners in 2nd and 3rd line of defence.
  • Drive a culture of risk management, measurement and accountability.

 

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Security, Risk management, or a related field; Master’s degree a plus
  • 10+ years of Technology Risk management experience with 5+ years in a leadership and people management role. Additional IT audit, compliance, financial services experience a plus
  • Strong understanding of inherent, transformational, read-across and residual risks and assessments
  • Prior operational experience in Controls Assurance, Risk remediation, control operation and issue assurance
  • Ability to understand risk measurement and targeted control investment
  • Proven ability to establish and implement data governance strategy in a large global organization
  • Exceptional problem solving abilities
  • Proven ability to drive change through collaboration and influence
  • Ability to drive multiple projects/workstreams simultaneously
  • Ability to solve complex problems independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to comfortably interact & communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to provide thought leadership in Technology Risk Management and maintain evolving expertise in risk and control best practices
  • Knowledge of Cloud Security Alliance or similar cloud/security framework a plus
  • Professional designation a plus (e.g. CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC, PMP, )
