Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and review of interim and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant GAAP requirements for alternative investments (hedge, private equity, exchange and real estate) funds
  • Plan financial statements production calendars to ensure timely preparation, review and release to clients/auditors
  • Attract, develop, engage and retain employees using available resources
  • Manage the day to day activities of the financial reporting administrators
  • Conduct detailed review of complex financial statements as well as high level reviews of less complex funds
  • Manage workflow efficiencies to meet client deliverables and to ensure timely and accurate production of financial statements by allocating and organizing work, setting deadlines and implementing procedures
  • Maintain and develop relationships with external auditors and other departments in State Street
  • Raise ideas to manager to support continuous operational improvements
  • Train new staff members as well as provide developmental opportunities and performance evaluation to existing staff.  Write and deliver timely and relevant performance feedback through the My Workday Goal Setting process
  • Manage own continued professional development, through engaging in the My Workday Goal Setting process and attending training Ensure self and team anticipates, monitors, actively manages and reports all risk and compliance issues, breaches and suspicious activities
  • Enforce adherence to both corporate and departmental policies and procedures
  • Act in accordance with Risk Excellence and role model Ethical behavior and decision making as part of our Way Ahead foundation
  • Perform other duties as required

     

Requirements:

  • college degree (accounting degree strongly preferred; business, mathematics, finance or economics degree required)
  • 4 or more years of previous accounting experience, including 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience. 
  • Specific experience in the private equity industry is a plus, but not required. 
  • Strong computer skills are required, Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.
