Job description:

• The successful candidate will be an Associate in Trading Settlements Krakow Team. The team is responsible for settlement of buy & sale invoices, month and quarter close. The role offers a challenging opportunity in a fast moving, dynamic and global trading environment.
• Ensure energy payments and invoices are processed accurately, on time and in accordance with agreed procedures and service standards. This will require validation of data in the business and finance systems.
• Responsible for AR overdue chasing.
• Ensure that period end processes are carried out accurately and completed within deadlines.
• Coordinate payment proposal activities for the section, ensuring that payments are processed on a daily basis in accordance with settlement processing rules and procedures.
• Ensure daily tasks are performed in line with service standards and KPIs.
• Maintain effective and appropriate systems and procedures, identifying opportunities for enhancements and ensuring on going SOX compliance.
• Strictly adhere to all relevant controls within the team.
• Contribute to process understanding and change pushing the team to look for improvement opportunities, whilst ensuring robust controls.
• Ensure detailed understanding of all new Energy contracts.
• Undertake Ad hoc duties as required.
• The finance operations team is responsible for the operational support, administration and financial recording of all Cleared, Bilateral Over-The-Counter (OTC) derivatives trading and Physical Energy trading activities. The team provides global derivatives and physical gas support services to the Shell Trading network companies.
• The successful candidate will be working as a member of the Physical Accounting & Settlements team in Energy Trading.
   

Requirements:

• University degree (Finance faculty preferred),

• Experience in accounting/ finance (1 year min),

• Accounting knowledge,

• Very good knowledge of Excel,

• Good working knowledge of Word and MS Outlook,

• Fluent English (min. B2),

• Proven ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines,

• Demonstrable team working skills.
