Our Information Technology Generalist - Practice Support team focuses on managing the design and implementation of technology infrastructure within PwC, developing and enhancing internal applications, and providing technology tools that help create a competitive advantage for PwC to drive strategic business growth.

 

Software Asset Management (SAM) Licensing Specialist

 

Location: Warsaw, Poland

 

Role

  • Establishing SAM system operations, enhancements, data integrity, identifying and resolving data anomalies and inconsistencies;
  • Focusing on SaaS products to include: managing the deployment and entitlement rights of software licensed by PwC through GLSC and key member firms;
  • Supporting and tracking the internal allocation of licenses and their costs;
  • Driving opportunities for efficient use and improved procurement of software across the PwC Network;
  • Assessing PwC’s license position and usage to support PwC IT actions (including optimization, standardization and sunset efforts), and PwC’s readiness to meet true-up/certification milestones;
  • Partnering with GLSC and Procurement to identify opportunities to consolidate IT purchases and rationalize supply base;
  • Responding to audit risks and software compliance obligations;
  • Supporting the alignment of member firm SAM resources, efforts and stakeholders and their ongoing engagement and adoption of GSAM services;
  • Providing foundational input and support the global SAM center of excellence consisting of people, programs, policies, processes, and tools that will optimize the value from PwC’s IT assets and improve compliance;
  • Advising leaders, member firms, and other stakeholders of actionable opportunities identified through SAM analyses and guide strategic decision making amongst key governance groups through to implementation and benefits realization;
  • Executing tasks to report on relevant software metrics and analyses;
  • Assimilating information from multiple sources and recommend decisions and clear strategy in the face of ambiguity;
  • Modeling and cultivating a team culture of ownership, execution, and continuous learning and improvement
  • Implementing and operating Flexera.

 

Profile

Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success as a team leader in software asset management, preferably for a multi-national organization, including the following areas:

  • Experience with Software Asset Management (SAM) auditing or consulting, tools and industry leading practices, and integrating SAM workflows with IT, Procurement and Contract management functions;
  • Providing SAM specialization to cross functional teams, including technical resources, external advisors and contractors;
  • Showcasing knowledge of enterprise software license agreements (including perpetual, subscription and cloud models), supplier licensing terms and conditions, terminology and policies with suppliers such as Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, VMware, etc.;
  • Driving both operational and contract software cost avoidance and savings;
  • Utilizing experience with budgets, financials, service development, and measuring and reporting software business value metrics;
  • Providing experience with ITIL;
  • Highlighting experience with IT sourcing and procurement lifecycle, various software and supplier licensing models, and both the interpretation and negotiation of software licensing terms and policies;
  • Exhibiting knowledge of the enterprise IT marketplace and supplier trends;
  • Showcasing stakeholder management, communication and reporting skills;
  • Building and maintaining relationships across many different functions and organization levels, and engage other teams to drive cross functional efforts;
  • Ongoing interpersonal, negotiation, and written and verbal communication skills; 
  • Process improvement and project management skills and experience;
  • Analyzing and problem solving;
  • Demonstrating leadership, management and coaching skills;
  • Exhibiting advanced Excel and data analytics skills;
  • Utilizing software skills that include MS Office and Sharepoint, IBM Notes, database structure and business intelligence tools, and SAM platforms such as Flexera;
  • Implementing/executing global Software Asset Management (SAM) policies, processes, and industry leading practices;
  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in a similar function and/or a proven record of success as a team leader in software asset management, preferably for a multi-national organization
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Computer and Information Science, Engineering, or similar
  • Certification(s) Preferred:  Software Auditing, ITIL and/or SAM certifications
