Senior Data Engineer in Financial Crime Unit

 

The role

  • Database design, maintenance and optimization

  • Developing stored procedures, data transformation scripts, ETL processes and data cleansing

  • Preparing data structures and transformations for reporting purposes

  • Providing analytical services for business data needs and making recommendations for viable solutions

  • Testing, debugging, and performance tuning of SQL code

  • Effectively communicating with team members and client to elicit, capture, develop and implement their requirements

  • Leading and managing mid-sized technical solutions development involving client engagement

  • Coaching junior team members

 

Candidate’s profile

  • 4+ years' commercial experience in database development focused roles, ideally with a background in financial services

  • Solid understanding of Relational Database Theory, ETL processes and data warehousing

  • Analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyse and visualise large datasets and draw appropriate conclusions

  • Experience in development, implementation, & optimization stored procedures and functions using T-SQL

  • Excellent SQL coding skills

  • Master’s degree (preferred in IT, Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics)

  • Ability to work well under pressure with a high degree of accuracy

  • Excellent written and spoken English
