Goal of the position:
This role will be responsible for processing financial transactions and performing reconciliation tasks.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Accurately processing/parking journals requested for and by Client countries within 3M guideline
- Documents financial transactions by entering account information
- Performing reconciliation of balance sheet accounts for SOX and Non-SOX countries independently
- Performing standard Month End Closing activities for SOX and Non-SOX countries independently
- Performing standard Month End Closing for entities in legacy system
- Performing extended GL scope independently
- Acting as accounts reviewer for the country if needed
- Taking ownership for the most complex accounting problems resolution for the country, proactive communication, escalation and follow-up.
- Acting as back up for Country Finance Specialist
- Acting as trainer for standard and extended GL scope
- Performing Soft Close activities
- Investigation and resolution of any reconciling differences on the assigned accounts.
- Performing general ledger balances review, follow-up on open items
- Accruals accounting
- Performing period-end activities
- Coordinates and facilitates the process of documenting accounting policies and procedures
- Improve and develop internal processes and controls
- Coordinates and drives issues resolving with country local finance team
- Took part in internal and external audits with resolution of audit queries and documentation preparation for SOX controls
- Resolving GL issues
- Other, as supervisor may order.
- The work priorities are defined with the Team Leader / manager / supervisor.
Education and experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university in Accounting & Finance
- Advantage if committed to obtaining a high level accountancy qualification ( i.e. CIMA / ACCA) as an asset
- Good level of general education (A Level equivalent / High School)
- Experience in accounting/RTR teams (study or practical experience)
- Very Good Accounting skills
- Very Good numerical skills
- Fluent English; Written and Verbal
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of SAP systems
Knowledge and skills:
- 4-6 years of equivalent work experience in Accounts & Finance / RTR Team
- Good team player working towards common group targets
- High standard of verbal and written communications skills in English
