Team overview

The EMEA Risk Governance and Operations team provide support and enablement to the EMEA Chief Risk Officer's effective management of the Risk function.  The team deliver significant transformation, actively contributing to the strategy agenda, enabling the EMEA CRO to meet their regulatory accountability obligations, driving policy or regulatory change remediation, leading and delivering strategic change and/or key risk management initiatives.

Your role

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Lead Analyst to join our team in Wroclaw. As the Lead Analyst working within the Governance and Operations team you will actively participates in strategic initiatives that have significant impact within a business or function (a unit within a business or business partner).  Working independently works on moderately complex projects related to strategic deliverables, risk management initiatives and enhancements, regulatory obligations, financial and business planning, implementation of policies, standards, and/or processes. Managing or supporting multiple enterprise-wide initiatives and business improvements from implementation from a 1LoD perspective through the entire project lifecycle. Significant collaboration across International risk management with global and local stakeholders

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in expanding their career within risk management, business controls regulatory change, the role involves senior stakeholder engagement and collaboration on a daily basis, taking ownership of deliverables in an autonomous environment. 
Supervision & Regulation: Ensure the effective delivery of regulatory obligations of the various Accountability Regimes across International.  Support the change requirements or any ad hoc risk project activity to meet regulatory requirements.  Working together with colleagues enterprise-wide to roll out and maintain the controls and processes encompassed within the regulatory requirements.
Governance and Reporting: Responsible for providing accurate and timely reporting oversight of all International Audit, Compliance Monitoring or Regulatory findings owned by Risk as a function; tracking through to delivery;, supporting timely closure of actions; driving greater ownership accountability, challenging approach and/or deadlines where necessary. Fostering a close relationship with Internal Audit and Compliance on key governance and oversight matters.  Delivering the Projects oversight list for the function.  Producing regular and ad hoc reporting and oversight of the risks owned and managed within the Risk function, including the EMEA Risk RCSA admin and actions management.

Project & Programme Management: Independently working on projects which span business planning, risk related items, financial management, lessons learned for the function, operating model enhancements, framework enhancements etc.  Conducting advanced research and analysis to assist with strategic management initiatives.
CAO & Controls: Responsible for supporting the delivery of all financial and risk control obligations, including but not limited to controls reporting, oversight of mandatory training completions, delivering the functions attestation and testing requirements for example records management, business continuity planning etc.  

Policy Management: Assessing applicability of new and updated policy for the Risk function, identifying areas for enhancement or change to meet with policy requirements. Work with senior Risk stakeholders to implement policy requirements developing communication plans, where required, to ensure remediation in a timely manner.

Employee Engagement & Talent: Working alongside the Head of Governance and Operations to deliver the learning and development needs of the function, including supporting the delivery of Lunch and Learn sessions, maintaining the Training & Professional Standards framework.  Where required working with R&C Employee Engagement working group to deliver engagement deliverables. Supporting effective communication of the key messages for the Risk function, and effective cascade of leadership information.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance or Economy highly desirable but relevant work experience just as important
  • Fluent English spoken and written (min. B2 level)
  • Proven relevant governance and controls or risk management experience within financial services
  • Good problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and experience within a client facing financial role
  • Must have first class excel skills as well as the broader MS office suite
