Senior Data Scientist in Transaction Monitoring area, Financial Crime Unit


Our Technology Team in Financial Crime Unit in Poland delivers innovative technology solutions, data analytics and consulting services to global PwC clients, addressing key challenges in the Anti Financial Crime area (Anti Money Laundering, Combating Terrorism Financing, Fraud Risk Management, FATCA and Financial Sanctions implementation etc.)


The role

  • Develop AI/ML models to create sophisticated analytical solutions for transaction monitoring process optimization.

  • Perform tuning and optimization of models used for transaction monitoring.

  • Build data structures by gathering, identifying relationships and transforming large sets of transactional data.

  • Perform queries and analysis to identify any anomalies and inconsistencies within data.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and business correlation of analysed data.

  • Keep up with the latest AI methodologies and Financial Crime trends.


Candidate’s profile

  • Min 2 years of previous experience in building models related to transaction monitoring area

  • Min 5 years of experience in machine learning and statistical modelling.

  • Proficiency in at least one  programming language (Python or R) 

  • Knowledge of software tools related to Machine Learning (e.g. Pandas, Numpy, scikit-learn or similar)

  • Familiarity with at least one  big data technology (Spark, Hadoop or similar) 

  • Good understanding of Linux environment

  • Experience in web scraping, information extraction would be an asset

  • University degree (preferred in Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Big Data)

  • Excellent written & spoken English with great communication skills.
