The European financial centre is responsible for providing a wide range of business services to the European region, as part of a wider network of regional hubs around the globe. These centres of expertise work together as a One Finance team to support GSK’s global operating model by delivering best in class services, sharing best practice and knowledge and working closely with other markets and colleagues, supported by our global headquarters in London.

 

We are currently searching for talented, motivated and adaptable individuals to join our growing Global Tax team based in the European financial centre, supporting a wide range of activities for the European region.

 

We are looking for a Manager Tax Service, EMEA, being responsible for supporting regular tax services for the region, managing business tax issues, queries, system tax changes, thus playing a crucial and active role in the delivery of new medicines to patients around the world.

How you will contribute to our success:

You will lead, manage and develop GSK’s EMEA Tax service team, which performs a wide variety of operational tax tasks such as:

  • Setting VAT rates for new items sold globally at GSK

  • Supporting when things go wrong in SAP with invoices and reports from a tax perspective

  • Managing VAT and WHT rate changes, and other routine regulation changes

  • Managing SAP access for all users in Global Tax and our outsource providers

  • Coordinating the collection and distribution of certificates of residence

  • Ad hoc tax filings not outsourced such as climate change levy

  • You will be a key escalation point, visible face of the Service, building engaged and trusted relationships with multiple stakeholders and customers of the processes you manage

  • Identify opportunities to simplify and improve existing processes within the team, enabling additional work to be brought into the tax service framework

  • You will ensure the team executes tax operational activities per agreed framework and process, and ensure controls and documentation are regularly reviewed and improved

  • You and your team will be supported by a wider tax projects and advisory team, and it will your responsibility to know when to request and reroute queries to correct resources for issue resolution

  • You and your team will have the opportunity to develop by supporting the wider Indirect & Operational Taxes team with bigger tax projects, as capacity permits

Why you?

What skills and expertise you will bring to the role:

Basic:

  • At least 3 years experience in tax compliance, tax technology, transformation, and/or advisory

  • Knowledge of ERP systems in area of indirect taxes (preferred SAP)

  • Degree in finance/taxation/business area and finance qualification

  • Fluency in English (C1)

Preferred:

  • Experience gained in large tax/audit companies

  • Accounting or tax qualification
