Accounting & Reporting Projects Manager – LKQ Europe (Temporary Role)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides overall project management functions for key financial / accounting related projects
  • Provides hands-on support to LKQ Europe as well as Subsidiary accounting / reporting teams to drive critical projects to completion
  • Provides guidance and recommendation to project teams to assist in scoping, defining goals of projects
  • Provides clear reporting to senior financial management regarding status of projects, resource needs, issues requiring resolution, or potential bottlenecks that can slow project completion
  • Provide assistance in any new policy implementation projects involving Accounting / Reporting
  • Provide oversight of cross functional teams to complete projects

ESSENTIAL ROLE DUTIES:

  • Provide active, day-to-day management of cross-functional project teams focused on improving LKQ European financial reporting processes and controls, streamlining financial operations, or ensuring compliance with accounting standards or internal control guidance
  • Provide regular updates to senior financial management on project status
  • Coordinate work of individuals from LKQ European Accounting / FP&A or Risk and Internal control teams, as well as Subsidiary accounting teams to meet project deadlines
  • Liaises with Corporate Accounting teams in Chicago to ensure any group reporting instructions and requirements are timely cascaded and implemented within Europe regional reporting processes.
  • Support the Director of Accounting Operations, and the VP & Controller LKQ Europe in identifying local accounting, legal and regulatory issues and their impact on the business, and advising the relevant parties of any process changes required
  • Secures financial data and reporting integrity
  • Interacts and aligns with external auditors and other external specialists
  • Assist statutory, group and internal audit teams with significant accounting-related audit queries
  • Support the Director of Accounting Operations and the VP & Controller LKQ Europe in ensuring that group accounting policies are correctly applied in regions.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in Finance, specifically related to accounting, FP&A, statutory reporting and internal control
  • US GAAP accounting knowledge is advantageous
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language
  • Excellent communicative skills at all levels in the organization and strategic and analytical thinking
