General responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, scheduling and implementation of compliance monitoring work in Poland.
  • Influence and input, where necessary, compliance policies and procedures within Compliance and the business.
  • Investigate compliance issues and regulatory matters arising, by way of full or ad hoc thematic reviews.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements where deficiencies are found and monitor resolution/implementation.
  • Assess the impact of upcoming and new legislation/legislation insofar as it relates to monitoring planning and execution.
  • Ensure that the Compliance Monitoring System (ProACT) is continuously updated.
  • Promote a strong compliance culture within the business.

Compliance monitoring:

  • Assist in the preparation of the compliance monitoring plan, on an annual basis, for BNY Mellon Fund Services (Ireland) DAC and assisting with others entities, as requested.
  • Schedule and conduct compliance monitoring, for the above Irish entity on specified areas of the business in order to monitor BNY Mellon’s compliance with procedures, regulatory and statutory obligations.
  • Prepare reports detailing issues and obtaining management action plans as to proposed changes for issue from senior management and tracking the recommendations to implementation.
  • Conduct ad-hoc intra year reviews, as appropriate.
  • Ensure that review records are appropriately maintained on the shared drives and on the Global Compliance Management System – ProACT.
  • Participate in regular Compliance Committee meetings.
  • Ensure periodic monitoring reviews in line with relevant Policies.

Compliance policies and procedures:

  • Ensure contributions are made to the Compliance Manual annually, where appropriate.
  • Identify and assist with the preparation of new compliance policies or amend policies as appropriate.

Compliance issues and regulatory role:

  • Respond to queries from staff, or external parties, insofar as they relate to Monitoring.
  • Carry out project work on specified regulatory obligations or issues arising.
  • Participate in the interpretation of new legal and regulatory requirements, identify relevant requirements and oversee implementation of these requirements, where appropriate.
  • Assist in any regulatory visits and information requests.
  • Develop and deliver training programmes to BMY Mellon staff on compliance monitoring issues, as appropriate.
  • Assist with compliance related meetings with clients, as applicable, in relation to monitoring issues.
  • Provide monthly report on Compliance Management Information Portal.

Management information systems:

  • Input to Compliance reporting on a regular basis for the Board, Management and Compliance Committees, where appropriate.
  • Report Significant Monitoring findings to the appropriate parties.

Qualifications:

  • Business or Finance degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of total work experience preferred.
  • Financial Services, Audit or Compliance background and/or experience with financial services compliance and/or experience with the assigned products, services or business lines/areas and the pertaining laws, regulations and rules of relevant regulators preferred.
