The Americas Compliance Testing Team conducts Compliance Testing reviews to ensure adherence to Laws, Rules and Regulations, Corporate and Business Line Policies and Procedures applicable to the Americas BNY Mellon businesses, products and services. The role is primarily to ensure BNY Mellon’s ongoing compliance with Regulatory and Corporate Compliance policies. This will be achieved through the following, but not limited to –

  • Contribute to the timely execution of Americas Compliance Testing reviews of business activities in accordance with Global Compliance Testing Manual methodology under the guidance of designated local CTOs and onshore US Lead Reviewers
  • Participate and contribute to Compliance, Compliance Testing and business meetings and where applicable, represent Compliance Testing at meetings with the Businesses under review and/or Business Compliance Officers
  • Act as liaison between Business Compliance Officers, Compliance Testing and BNYM businesses
  • Contribute to assigned ad hoc Compliance/Compliance Testing related projects


Essential Functions – Key Roles & Responsibilities:  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey issues succinctly.
  • Understanding of Compliance Testing and audit like processes for executing reviews and documentation requirements for work performed.
  • Ability to think critically, have a healthy skepticism and work independently e.g., self-starter, while also following instructions from onshore US Lead Reviewers in the execution of Compliance Testing reviews
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities
  • Effective time management to meet stringent deadlines, work under pressure with attention to detail, strong analytical and problem solving skill with accuracy to achieve quality results.
  • Obtain an understanding of BNY Mellon functions, operations, US laws and regulations and their regulatory environment that impact the businesses under review
  • Liaise with various businesses based in the Americas and build cooperative relationships with the business and business partners to facilitate the management and resolution of differences
  • Required skills: Excellent knowledge of Computer and MS Office (Word, Excel (Pivot Tables) & PowerPoint)


Job Qualifications/Experience: 

  • Required Education: Secondary/University Graduate in related field e.g., business, compliance, finance, accounting 
  • Preferred Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years financial industry experience with minimum 3 years of Compliance & Risk, compliance testing, control testing and/or internal audit experience
  • Sound knowledge and awareness of US laws, rules and regulations.
  • Preferred professional qualifications: CPA, Chartered Accountant, CIA, Successful completion of FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam, Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) IOC exams merit award / IMC / CFA
