For our Client, developing SSC for the EMEA region based in Wrocław, we are looking for candidates to take the position of
Senior GL Accountant
Responsibilities:
- performing activities related to general ledger processes (reporting, fixed assets, inventory, intercompany, month-end closing) of foreign entities,
- management of the fixed asset module, reconciliation, and accounting in the general ledger in accordance with US/German GAAP, IFRS standards, and reporting plans,
- preparing, reviewing, and analysing financial information and preparing financial reports and accounting statements for internal purposes,
- act as the first point of contact and support for all queries related to the general ledger and support internal and external audits,
- development of knowledge, assurance of the quality of the work done and of the trust of the clients,
- support junior team members by reviewing their work and providing them with feedback,
- participation in improvement and standardization projects and support initiatives, e.g. for process automation, cost reduction, and improving efficiency.
Requirements:
- min. Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Accounting or equivalent certification,
- 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting or financial departments (GL, Fixed Assets, AP),
- experience in accounting services – nice to have,
- knowledge of US/German GAAP or IFRS standards,
- understanding of management and cost accounting,
- knowledge of inventory settlement and valuation,
- previous experience or exposure to internal control (SOX standard knowledge would be an asset),
- knowledge of JD Edwards software and proficiency in MS Excel,
- strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills, process improvement oriented,
- Good communication skills and ability to build and share knowledge within a team,
- experience in process transition - nice to have,
- good knowledge of English (min. B2),
- knowledge of any other language would be an asset.
