Junior GIS Engineer/Developer
As a Junior GIS Engineer/Developer you will be tasked in developing geospatial solutions, specifically:
- automation of data and analytical processing using Python, SQL;
- integration and processing of spatial data;
- advanced analytics on spatial data;
- co-creation, software development of applications based on GIS technology;
- simple DevOPS and maintenance tasks of existing solutions and technological stack.
You will be part of international project teams for projects of different scales.
You will help the team to build and manage PwC’s geospatial databases and develop new solutions and tools for advanced geospatial data analytics.
It is expected that you will grow professional expertise through seeking knowledge, skills and hands-on experience in Geospatial analysis and technology (through on the job learning, external events, conferences and training) as well as share your acquired knowledge with other staff.
Candidate’s profile:
- Strong analytical and logical thinking skills;
- Min. 1 year of relevant experience working in geospatial domain;
- Knowledge of spatial technologies, spatial data and/or spatial information systems;
- Higher degree (Geoinformatics, Geography, Geodesy & Cartography, Computer Science, or related);
- Interest in geospatial data analytics, willingness to learn new tools and solutions, highly motivated to achieve established goals;
- Out of the box thinking and converting the ideas into proposed innovative solutions.
Must Have:
- Experience in programming languages Python, Javascript;
- Knowledge of SQL in order to effectively use database engines for structured data;
- Ability to analyze data stored in PostgreSQL database (PostGIS extension);
- Ability to automate processes and scripting, create analytical frameworks and build automated data pipelines;
- Knowledge of effective data visualization techniques and tool;
- Experience with analysis of geospatial datasets or developing solutions related to geospatial data;
- Very good command of the English language as well as interpersonal and communication skills (min. B2, C1 preferable) - essential in day-to-day cooperation with clients and the team.
Nice to Have:
- Basic Linux/Windows servers administration;
- Knowledge of ESRI software and solutions;
- QGIS knowledge;
- Products and projects delivery experience;
- Working with tabular data and ability to effectively manipulate it (e.g. MS Excel).
