For our Client, an international manufacturing company, operating in the EMEA region, we are looking for a Chief Accountant responsible for the entities located in UK. The Chief Accountant role is part of the Controlling Team and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financials of assigned entities. The company's headquarters is in Krakow.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in general accounting and at least 3 years as a Chief Accountant, Certified Accountant or GL managerial roles,
  • strong knowledge of IFRS is a must,
  • direct responsibility for an entities located in the UK region,
  • fluent English language is a must,
  • experience in the manufacturing company would be a plus,
  • ability to work to tight time scales, manage multiple tasks, and maintain a high level of accuracy,
  • supporting decisions and influencing business counterparts.

Responsibilities

  • ensure accurate and timely financial reporting under group IFRS standards and local statutory requirements, 
  • support local statutory & compliance teams, including VAT returns, payroll, tax returns, and other local submissions,
  • ensure accurate and timely financial reporting under group IFRS and local HGB standards in cooperation with the Financial Controller,
  • act as a point of contact between the Shared Services Center and the relevant business area,
  • provide input to judgment journals required during the period-end process,
  • ensure period-end processes are executed in a timely and accurate manner,
  • conduct balance sheet reviews prepared by shared services and ensure completeness and accuracy,
  • support Regional Entity Controllers with action plans for balance sheet items,
  • lead and coordinate external audits (group, statutory, regulatory),
  • oversee financial transactions according to company policies and regulations.
