Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements for UK and European entities in line with UK GAAP.
- Support the consolidation of financial results from multiple European entities for group reporting purposes
- Support the delivery of statutory accounts within agreed deadlines, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for statutory audits and respond to auditor queries.
- Review financial information submitted by local finance teams and investigate variances or inconsistencies.
- Assist with consolidation adjustments, including intercompany eliminations and basic foreign currency translation.
- Maintain reconciliation schedules and supporting working papers.
- Work with local finance teams across Europe to collect financial data and ensure consistent application of accounting policies.
- Help maintain documentation of statutory and consolidation processes and controls.
- Contribute to process improvements to increase efficiency and data quality within statutory and consolidation reporting.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years finance experience in an international finance team.
- Good understanding of statutory accounting and financial reporting principles, ideally including UK GAAP (or IFRS standards).
- Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or working towards qualification would be additional benefit.
- Experience working with multi-entity or international financial data.
- Confident communicator, able to work effectively with stakeholders across different countries and cultures.
- Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail.
- English written and spoken.
- Organized and methodical, with the ability to manage deadlines.
- Willing to learn and develop technical accounting skills.
