Job Description
- Develop, build, and support the agreed reports. Phase 1 of the reports will be in Microsoft Excel.
- Analyze the data available within the harmonized data repository and determine the quality of data that is already in place and figure out what is missing.
- Analyze the finance business requirements and expectations towards desired reporting and visualizations.
- In case data is missing or data is not correct, proactively identify the missing pieces and collaborate on fixing it.
- Closely collaborate with the Finance colleagues in understanding their information needs and the reporting requirements.
- Closely collaborate with the Information Management specialists from the Headquarters.
- Be a gate keeper for applying the standards on reporting.
- Guide creation of a scalable modular reporting environment allowing to add/modify reports in future with a limited effort.
- Develop reports (Phase 1) within Microsoft Excel by applying where needed (advanced) VBA programming.
- Align on the quality of the data repository together with Data Engineers.
- Guide/support/coach young talents in executing their activities on reports.
- Design static reports based on the established reporting standards.
- Generate static reports with the agreed frequency delivering them on time towards defined end users.
- Help and guide the end users to understand and use the reports.
- Work on the architecture of the reporting environment such that it fully supports business needs, today and in future.
- Work on the architecture of the reporting environment in such a way that an efficient Phase 2 (Business
- Intelligence solution) would be created with the minimal effort.
- Ensure that all business requests regarding the reports are handled with the proper priority and quality.
- Handle requests from business to develop new reports/BI dashboards.
The Successful Applicant
- An expert in Excel/VBA solutions with a proven experience in building reports and interpreting data by means of static reports.
- There are no secrets in Excel/VBA for you, you know all versions and can develop a solution that will work for multiple versions of Microsoft Excel in one go.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft suite (SQL/Access/etc.).
- Knowledge and experience in other BI-related solutions is required, like Tableau, Spotfire will be an asset.
- Strong 'can-do' mentality and 'drive' to accomplish tasks.
- Understanding of data warehousing and SAP BW is preferred.
- Able to execute own work and guide/coach/support young talents.
- Being a proactive person, willing to further improve the processes within the team.
- Highly self-driven, result-oriented and motivated with strong 'can-do' mentality to accomplish business goals.
- Strong analytic skills with ability to analyze, organize, summarize, present, and articulate processes.
- Able to prioritise and work with multiple internal customers & stakeholders across multiple geographies, time zones, and cultures.
- Fluent English.
