Job description:

Purpose of this role is to ensure that regional bitumen and sulphur supply points are replenished in time and at competitive cost to meet marketing requirements.
To optimize the bitumen and sulphur supply chain whilst meeting contract obligations with 3rd party suppliers and customers as well as off-take commitments from Shell  sites. Ensure sulphur evacuation from Shell  supply sites.


 

Principal accountabilities

 

  • To develop the rolling replenishment schedule for customers, depots and terminals, in line with the monthly supply plan and to re-optimize it on a daily regular basis,

  • To keep track of the stock inventory in the terminals, by monitoring actual lifting and replenishment vs plan, ensuring that the required target stock positions are met,

  • To optimize massive means (shipping, barging, railing) tonnages, minimizing freight costs whilst preventing stock outs,

  • To re-optimize the supply schedule on a daily/regular basis,

  • To liaise with the manufacturing schedulers (including JV’s) to review the production schedule and stock position on daily basis,

  • To liaise with receiving terminals (customer sites as well as own Shell stock terminals) to agree and regularly review the supply schedule on minimum weekly basis,

  • To liaise with Technical teams to ensure product quality (customer interface) as well as correct blending ratios for product blended on vessel or in terminals.

  • To liaise with the Supply Contracts and Commercial Manager on potential 3rd party supply sources,

  • To liaise with the Operations Manager in the region on the massive means (shipping, barging, railing) availability,

  • To liaise with shippers to monitor voyage schedule, vessel availability, bunkering, as well as invoice payment performance of Shell

  • To organize and prepare quarterly reviews with contract partners

  • To arrange quality controls for shipped parcels e.g. through sample collection/ analysis, shore QA for load and discharge ports,

  • To ensure all transactions are input into GSAP on time.

  • To ensure used Barges / Ships are vetted in line with Shell vetting requirements.

  • To check and approve relevant service invoices (transport, inspection)

  • Stands in for colleagues in Supply Operations Team
     

Special challenges:
To optimize the full bitumen and Sulphur supply chains whilst coping with a large number of competing demands from individual terminal / sales areas as well as volatile demand patterns. Finding solutions when supply chains are disrupted with eye for the most cost and profitable outcomes. 

Occasionally you may receive outside working hours call, in case of scheduling disruptions.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of Supply experience is required.

  • Ability to work independently with a problem-solving approach

  • Knowledge of Cargo Claims and Procedures

  • German is required (B2/C1)

  • Good communication,

  • Analytical and problems solving skills,

  • Capacity to adapt to rapidly changing situations.

  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationship with main stakeholders and work in a virtual and multicultural environment.

  • Ability to use admin systems such as SAP.

  • Ability to adept the new information and reoptimize with economical end game in mind.

  • Fluency in English is required.
