The CEE Independence Office deals with interpretations of auditor independence regulations and acts as a sounding board for independence questions from PwC partners and staff. The role further involves independence guidance and training development and its delivery. Assisting with regional and Poland specific independence matters is included.

The role opens up a horizon to get a unique expertise applicable to the regulatory environment across CEE in the areas connected with independence. The main focus will be on personal independence of our professionals with an option to develop further in the areas of permissibility of non-audit work provided to audit clients and an auditing firm relationships (e.g. business relationships, banking and other financial arrangements).
The role is intended for a candidate who is keen on committing time to get to know the independence concepts and rules, who enjoys working in a diverse and multinational environment. The position is based in the Warsaw office.

Consultant in CEE Independence Office

Main responsibilities:

• Analysis and interpretation of independence regulations

• Conducting consultations in English on a daily basis, verbally and in writing 

• Monitoring and auditing compliance with independence rules of our professionals

• Identifying potential risks and areas of non-compliance with the firm policies

• Independence guidance and training development and delivery

• Responding to business inquiries on the independence issues

• Cooperation with other departments in the CEE region as well as other PwC firms

Candidate’s profile:

• 2 years of work experience in a professional services environment

• Deep analytical, research and investigative skills, attention to detail

• Easy grasp of complex concepts

• Systematic and well organised

• Strong work ethic, empathy, ability to deal with sensitive matters, patience and maturity

• Focused on a long-term career in Independence

• Good working knowledge of MS Office tools
