Who we are looking for

The State Street’s Alpha Data Services Product Development team is seeking an individuals with SQL development and data management experience who is interested in growing their business and software analysis skills and learning about the operational processes that support State Street’s Alpha Front to Back data service offering. The Data Analyst / SQL Developer will interact with clients and internal State Street parties to identify key data validations for the client and participate in requirements analysis, implementation and ultimately adoption of operational tracking toolsets.

The Enterprise Control Framework monitors events across State Street and CRD platforms, enforces business controls throughout the client data management lifecycle, and ultimately ensures the highest data quality standards are met as part of our Alpha Data Services offering.  Several components have been developed within the ECF platform to eliminate manual processing, reduce operational risk and promote transparency into State Street’s operational processes both internally and for our clients.

What you will be responsible for

As Alpha Data Analyst / SQL Developer you will

• Develop and maintain data validation logic in our proprietary Control Framework tool
• Actively participate in business requirement elaboration and functional design sessions to develop an understanding of our Operational teams’ analytical needs, key data flows and sources
• Assist Operational teams in the buildout of Checklists and event monitoring workflows within our Enterprise Control Framework platform
• Build effective working relationships with Operational users, Reporting and IT development teams and business partners across the organization
• Conduct interviews, generate user stories, develop scenarios and workflow analyses
• Contribute to the definition of reporting solutions that empower Operationals team to make immediate decisions as to the best course of action
• Perform some business user acceptance testing
• Provide production support and troubleshooting for existing operational dashboards
• Conduct regular demos and training of new features for the stakeholder community

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ of SQL required
• Database Management and ETL development experience a plus
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/ Azure) a plus
• Prior experience developing within a BI reporting tool (e.g. Spotfire, Tableau, Looker, Information Builders) a plus
• Asset management experience, including investment operation a plus
• Excellent English language skills, both spoken and written
