Team overview

The Depositary function is a specialist provider of fiduciary services to UCITS, Non UCITS and AIFMD Fund Structures.  The core responsibility of the depositary is to act solely in the interest of the investor, to hold in safekeeping the assets of the investment funds and provide oversight on the activities of the scheme.

The Governance & Control team are responsible for governance, risk and control across all jurisdictions within Trustee & Depositary, managing oversight of risk and promoting a culture of compliance and risk awareness.


Responsibilities

Reporting to Head of International Governance & Control, oversee the quality of the International T&D business control framework and T&D’s adherence to the corporate and regional policies relating to operational risk management.

  • Validating the effective implementation of the Operational Risk Management Framework within T&D.
  • Supporting the identification, assessment, monitoring and management of risks that arise through the course of its business and service provision.
  • Coordinating the creation, monitoring and maintenance of the appropriate Operational Risk components that is appropriate and complete, and is updated or modified, as necessary, to reflect changes in the business or to address emerging risks.
  • Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of risk management data capture and reporting, including OREs, RCSAs, HLAs, etc.
  • Develop and maintain meaningful tracking metrics for management reporting and escalation.
  • Assist the business in the process of identifying, assessing, recording, and remediating operational risk.
  • Strengthen and enhance the control environment by challenging current process and recommending control enhancements as needed.
  • Identify best practices and share these within the business line.
  • Provide and participate in cross training with colleagues where necessary.
  • Completes a number of administrative duties within the team.
  • Assist in any ad hoc tasks as requested.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in business/legal related / accounting / finance discipline.
  • 3-5 years of total work experience.  Financial industry experience preferred.
  • Prior operational risk experience or Trustee & Depositary experience is highly desirable.
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to identify key operational risk issues, to summarise them efficiently, and to escalate them in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Ability to establish strong interpersonal relationships, confident communicating at all levels with key decision makers in the departments across locations.
  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task and work under time pressure
